Our stay in Rekjavik

We reserved a SIF apartment and were told on the day of arrival there was an issue with the apartment and they offered for us to stay at AVA apartment instead. This apartment had one bathroom instead of the two we were supposed to have and also had not washer/dryer that we were supposed to have. One bedroom was great, the other was very small. The location of AVA apartments was excellent, on Rainbow road. The kitchen could have been a bit cleaner and had limited supplies, no can opener. The property management replied quickly but didn’t always have accurate information.Due to only one bathroom and no washer/dryer they agreed to refund us 383.00 US dollars which seemed fair

Modern apartment

We enjoyed our Iceland visit tremendously. The apartment was very clean, comfortable and modern European style. Very convenient for walking to the shops, restaurants, bars, cathedral etc. It is street parking that you pay for. We couldn’t get the stove to work and the shower wand was broken in one bathroom. Other than that it was a nice place to stay. Hosts are very helpful and reply quickly

Reykjavik for Christmas

The SIF apartments were perfect for our family travels 3 adults. The apartment was spacious and modern. The beds and furniture were comfortable. The lighting was dim, but cozy. We never heard our neighbors or much street noise. The location was great for walking to the city center or along the ocean.

Great apartment, centrally located

This is a great apartment that is well located for the main shopping area in Reykjavik. We had a great stay. There is a 24/7 convenience store a short walk away so we were able to buy food and supplies even though we arrived late in the evening. Our only problem was that after entering the outside front door and going up the elevator, we found out that the code for the apartment door we got in our check-in email was incorrect. The phone number in that email message also didn't work. So for about 15 minutes we panicked because it was after 11PM. But then we went back down to the lobby and saw that there was a different phone number listed for the apartment management company, and we called that number. Fortunately a nice lady answered the phone, spoke English, verified our identity and gave us the correct code. It turned out that the code we received in the check-in email message had some digits transposed. Because of this mixup, I deducted stars for the check-in and communication ratings. Otherwise, it would be five stars for all ratings.

Clean and spacious apartment

The apartment was beautiful, clean and comfortable. Worked very well for our family of 5. Large floor plan with an outdoor space. Easy to walk to everything but still quiet at night. Shades made it darker at night. Host is very responsive and easy to communicate with. Would highly recommend. We used street parking our entire stay. Much less expensive than parking in the garage. The parka app is easy to use. Was there for one week and was always able to park directly in front of the building or just across the street.

Good place

Very clean, good location in the city. Very few provisions in the kitchen, there were no sheets on the bed in the master bedroom, we were not aware that this was self service until later during the stay

Iceland Adventure part 2

Great property with plenty of room for four adults. Well appointed with everything needed for a comfortable stay. The downside was that we didn’t know that there was only a Nespresso machine for morning coffee (not a fan). An easy fix would be to add an inexpensive French press. Parking perhaps could have been included. Other than that we enjoyed our stay. Great location, not far from downtown.
