Our family had a great time! The amenities were pretty accurate as listed. The area is very quiet with abundant wildlife. The use of the kayaks, boats and paddle boat was nice and kept the kids busy. The fire pit was not described well in the listing but deserves to because it was fantastic… 4 porch swings surrounding a large fire pit. I wish we could have used it more. Some of the amenities were outdated and are in need of replacement. I do believe that the owner should include instructions on what to do in the event of warm temps. It reached 86 degrees on one of the days during our stay. The unit does not have A/C. This isn’t completely unusual for the area but we turned the thermostat to A/C before leaving for a day of boating (on another lake). When we got back, it was 79 degrees inside. Once we realized the issue, it was already 10:30 PM. We were able to open all of the windows and get the fans going but it was still 75 degrees at 9:00 AM the following morning. Our youngest grandson suffers from febrile seizures. If we knew about the lack of A/C we could have taken the necessary actions to ensure that the unit was well ventilated throughout the hot day similar to the preventative steps we took to keep our grandson cool in the outdoor heat that day.
