This beautiful property is nestled in the woods near lake Lucerne with a few minute walk down a winding rough path to the crystal clear sandy lake, where you will find an amazing large campfire and a nice area for relaxing by the lake with ample seating and Adirondack chairs to relax and enjoy along with supplies for roasting marshmallows and hot dogs. This place is not zero degree entry into lake and has no sandy beach as described, and the picture is not what the beach looks like at all because there is no beach! However, there is a shallow area once you step down into the lake for the kids to swim and play. The cottage is beautiful but house rules are very different than the description on VRBO so be mindful of that as we didn’t see the binder that was behind the microwave. You need to dispose of your own garbage at a landfill yourself, which is a huge downfall we were not aware of until we were checking out and informed by the cleaners who were over an hour early, since checkout time was different than stated on VRBO. Communication with owner was not good, took five days for him to respond to our call, yet when he did respond he was very nice and accommodating. Firewood and toilet paper are not supplied as described for the stay of a week, and only enough for two night fires and only an extra roll of toilet paper in each bathroom so come prepared! The grocery store in Crandon is a fifteen minute drive which is very helpful. The restaurant, Waters Edge hosts a Wednesday night ski show which is entertaining and you can get to it and dock via boat/pontoon to enjoy a dinner on the lake which was fun! Overall this is a great place to stay but if you struggle with walking it is quite a hike down to the lake, but located in a beautiful wooded area with minimal view of the lake from the cottage. We enjoyed our stay very much but wish the communication was better and the property description and photos on VRBO was not accurate. However, being on beautiful lake Lucerne did not disappoint!
