The first harvest tastes good in early summer. Fresh fruit and vegetables from the region can be bought at the weekly markets in Blanca, Ricote or Archena. - In summer, a light, pleasant breeze blows and the private pool delights young and old alike. The rocks of the Valle de Ricote tower impressively into the steel-blue sky in sensational formations. Thousands of lemon and orange trees enchant the valley with their lush green colour and wonderful fruit. The intoxicating scent wafts through the air during the orange blossom season. The wind elegantly moves the palm fronds. The Moorish origins of the settlements are recognisable everywhere, as the Valle de Ricote reminded the Moors of their Moroccan valleys, among other things. Norias, the large, often wooden water wheels, are both a functioning and silent testimony to this time. Numerous well-marked hiking and walking trails lead through the valley or up the mountains, depending on the level of interest and difficulty. The views and vistas are always breathtaking and fascinating. The highest peak is called Los Almeces and is reached at 1122 metres above sea level. The neighbouring mountains are the territory of the local ibex, and hiking and climbing fans will love the wonderfully wooded mountain slopes of the Sierra de Ricote and the wildly rugged, varied Campo de Ricote above the valley. Almond and olive trees dominate the vegetation here, particularly impressive with the pink and white almond blossoms in spring. The evening fades into late autumn with chirping crickets, while the night delights curious stargazers and moonlight fans. The Mirador Alto del Bayna near Blanca, a viewing platform above the river, offers a unique, relaxed all-round view. The Azud de Ojós reservoir is a fresh water reserve, energy supplier, bird paradise and paddling area all in one. The Balneario de Archena thermal complex offers thermal baths, high-quality medical services and beauty treatments on an area of more than 200,000 square metres, located directly in the Valle de Ricote Nature Park. The surrounding towns of the holiday home are Blanca (4 km, approx. 6,500 inhabitants), Abarán (8 km, approx. 13,000 inhabitants) and Cieza (14 km, approx. 35,000 inhabitants) to the north-west and Ricote (5 km, approx. 1,500 inhabitants), Archena (14 km, approx. 20,000 inhabitants) and Murcia (35 km, approx. 450,000 inhabitants) to the south-east. Blanca already offers the complete infrastructure of shops for daily needs, doctors, pharmacies, restaurants, bars/cafés. In Ricote there is a weekly market on Tuesdays and in Blanca on Thursdays, both in the morning.
