Decent Hotel for a Business Trip
The hotel itself was a little tired and needed a bit of maintenance, nothing dramatic just few few bits broken that were waiting to be replaced. I have dinner on the first night which was nothing special, however both times I had breakfast it was very good, although not cheap! Parking was good, the wi-fi did the job, I slept well and showered well, no complaints, but for full marks it needs a little TLC and attention.

Excellent food comfy bed & lovely staff.
This is the fourth time my husband, dog and myself have stayed at this hotel. We have always found the staff welcoming and level of cleanliness good. This stay was for 3 nights and we ate breakfast and evening meals for our entire stay. The food has previously been hit and miss but this time it was of excellent standard with a new menu and I assume a new chef. Very dog friendly but wise to let them know before turning up. We will return next year for our annual Autumn New Forest adventures. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Let down by receptionist on Sunday morning (13/10)
Everything was great apart from the receptionist on the day of checkout (Sun 15th Oct). When we arrived the day before the room tea/coffee/milk/sugar hadn’t been fully replenished I don’t think as only enough for a couple of drinks and 1 biscuit to share. In the morning I popped to reception to ask for a few more milks and sugar so we could have some tea and coffee before checkout and the receptionist was really quite rude. I asked for sugar and milk and she said “housekeeping will do that” is quite a short manner. I said that would be lovely for the next guests but we would like some hot drinks before leaving so she said “oh, so you want me to do that right now?” I felt like saying, if the room had of been set up correctly in the 1st place then I would have already had milk and sugar but I didn’t and said yes please, if not too much trouble. She huffily went off and I waited for about 10 mins and she hasn’t returned so went back to the room to see if some had appeared as she took my room number but none had. So I waited 5 mins and went back and I think a boss was with her as she totally lied and said I had disappeared. The receptionist on Saturday when we checked in was a really lovely girl so it was just the Sunday morning receptionist which spoilt the experience.

This place is OK as chain hotels go. The rooms was spacious and the bed was comfortable. The seating was a function room chair which was not a comfortable option for watching the tv in the evening. The food was inexpensive but whilst not unpleasant, the lamb shank and the chips, also lacked any flavour at all. I was served a side dish of vegetables which were unpleasant, prepacked, frozen and microwaved. I understand that hotels need portion control and cost control but at least you could give a chef some veg to prep. I do 100+ nights in hotels a year and the food in this place was close to the worst this year.

Pleasant but minor inconveniences
Room was pleasant but we were unable to get showered as there was no hot water and we were kept up late due to a wedding taking part downstairs. Spoke to a gentlemen in reception and he assured me a 20% refund would be issued.

Staff were lovely, booking and waiting at breakfast. Sadly the room faced the front, which was very noisy with the traffic, the window seals and surrounds were filthy with black mould. However the bathroom Was lovely think it probably had a recent refit.... if you book definitely ensure you have a room at the back to avoid the traffic

3 Day Stay
The hotel website does not show that it is on a dual carriageway. The room was not clean to a good standard and furniture was tatty. This is not a hotel but a motel and this is misleading. It is a pub with rooms and food and bar represent same. Will not stay again

Could do with a lick of paint but clean. Lovely bed and staff. Found bit of plstic in my salad and kitchen manager at my table in seconds appologising and got free pudding and glass of wine. Lovely view from room. Plenty of seats in bar area and gardens. On my own and felt at ease.

Great staff team
Very pleasant, friendly and professional staff. From front desk through bar and restaurant the people could NOT be more helpful, friendly and welcoming. Even the chef came and said hello.

I would recommend short stays at this Hotel
Generally a good hotel for a weekend stay. However, we found that the Reception on arrival was "unstaffed" until another staff member appeared!

The building was run down, in need of paint and timber repairs. The standard of cleaning was not good enough, there was rubbish bags left on the corridor overnight.

Outside of the property needs painting and general tidy up. Very disappointed that on Saturday the breakfast service didn't start until 8 a.m. We had paid for this but we had to leave the hotel by 8.15 a.m to get to a venue where we were playing a competition and had to register. The staff said they wouldn't start until 8 a.m. so they were not accommodating and we left with no breakfast!!! Just a bacon roll would have been okay!!

I don't know what's happened to this place. I've been staying here for years and it was consistently good. Especially the food. However, over the last few months the food and service in the bar/restaurant has fallen off a cliff.

Poor stay
We have stayed at this hotel three times before and this was a very disappointing stay and we will not be returning. The staff member on reception was extremely unfriendly on arrival and check in. We then had to ask to change rooms as the first room (39) smelt of smoke. My dad also stayed in the hotel and there were many inconsistencies between the rooms. He didn’t have tea or biscuits in his room. The signs said to leave the towels on the floor if we would like them changing, which we did! Only to find no house keeping had been in the room and we still had dirty towels on the floor and had to ask for fresh ones at reception. One morning our bed was made again and tea and cups changed the following three mornings there wasn’t any of this. Then we had a meal in the restaurant they didn’t have much stock. No steak, no sauces etc. The staff again were unfriendly and the lady in charge had a terrible attitude ( dark curly hair and glasses). There were a few younger staff members who need some training but they didn’t have the best role model. Staff were moaning about one another behind the bar and being extremely unprofessional ( I could hear and see). The young lady Chrysala who served us was lovely. We asked her for some tea bags and biscuits for my dad and she went and found some. Only to then be pulled into the kitchen by the angry looking manager. It made me feel extremely uncomfortable to witness so I spoke to the lady and explained we asked for teabags and biscuits.

Simply lovely
From checking in ro departure the staff were nothing but polite,,professional and courteous. Walked into the room and it was so clean and bright. The bed was so comfortable, one of the best beds I've slept in. Breakfast was cooked to order and was brilliant. Plenty of tea, coffee and fresh juices to choose from. Will definitely be using this hotel when working on the Bournemouth/Poole area. Check it out its a must.

Good location and a decent property. Barring the senior lady receptionist ( who was unhelpful and rude ) at the check in, all the rest of the staff were wonderful helpful and very professional.
