“We had a really enjoyable stay at Townend Farm and Julie was extremely helpful booking a meal at the Tiger Inn and also giving us information about local bus services The breakfast was a really good standard and cooked perfectly . Our only concern was that the rooms were on the second floor with steep staircases which made it difficult to carry suitcases and to access the rooms.Perhaps it might be worth pointing out on the website Thankyou Julie for a lovely stay ”

“I think the hotel is either new or newly run as they seem to be finding their feet. Check-in was 3pm to 4pm and when I called to say I might be around 6:30, I was told "it's only hour and a half from Manchester" and "there might not be anyone here after 5pm". It felt a bit abrupt in all honesty but when I arrived around 5:30 (Friday school holiday traffic), they were pleasant enough. Breakfast starts at 10:30 to 11:30 which is very late and checkout is 10am. Weird timings, hence my theory they...

“What a wonderful little place to stay right in the heart of Staithes. The owner is super friendly and cooks an amazing breakfast. We stayed in the Botany Bay room which has an amazing view. For those arriving by car, I would advise parking at the top of the hill and taking only essentials down to the property with you as there is no parking down there.”

“Room was not cleaned on 2 days, breakfast quality was good but service disorganised, was 1st into Breakfast last to be served. Another room was broken into in middle of night, police also had to attend following night. This was my third staying at the Waves, last 2 years excellent but this year was very poor, have cancelled booking for next year. Two other couples who have been staying each year also not booking for next year. A real shame the change from last year ”

"The room, service, food were all great. The only complaint was the breakfast. We got there and 9:30am they finish at 10am and there was hardly anything left and they don't put out more yogurt, fruit, cheese etc. Very disappointed in that aspect."

"Habitacion estandar un poco sucia y abandonada. Cuadros y tv torcidos, falta de reparacion de pomos y otras cosas rotas, polvo ... Cable electrico suelto (parecia conexion de tierra) y lleno de polvo debajo del lavabo. Ascensor averiado afectando a numerosos huespedes con discapacidad y con dificultad para subir escaleras con equipaje. Habia fallado varios dias seguidos. Habitacion muy ruidosa por los nidos de aves marinas en las ventanas. Ruido continuo que interrumpe el sueño. Entra suciedad y plumas al abrir ventana. Riesgo para la salud en caso de gripe aviar. Abstenerse en caso de fobia a las aves. Puntuacion excelente por ecologia y respeto al medio ambiente. Paraiso para los amantes de la ornitologia. "
