“Hotel was run down (stains on carpets, tired decor), with no apparent staffing (a maid gave me my key, that was the last I saw of anyone for 3 days), restaurant was closed throughout, and pool not swimmable on account of cleaning equipment floating about. Overpriced.”

“While the room was clean and quite big, the mattresses were extremely hard and not comfortable at all. This being said, the electric blankets were a nice touch, and the overall room layout was very nice, especially the outisde shower which was quite a hit with the kid. The staff was very pleasant, the giraffes awesome to stare at, and the breakfast quite hearty, but we honestly found the nightly cost to be quite expensive for what we got.”

“We loved our stay at Doorn Kraal. Firstly the staff are lovely and so professional. Our room (the 2 bedroom cottage) was super neat and tidy, and it had everything we needed and it was very quiet as it’s a bit further away. Just be mindful at night, there may be one or two spiders in the trees when you walk to the cottage (have a flashlight). The food was soo delicious, we could not stop thinking about the wonderful dinner. We will stay again. Thanks to all the staff! ”

“Alucinante! Las habitaciones muy grandes y espaciosas, con sala de estar. El baño muy completo. Y todo con vistas al lago!!!! El servicio increíblemente bueno. Tuvimos la suerte de estar solos una noche en el hotel (allí era invierno, temporada baja) y nos prepararon una mesa en el salón delante de la chimenea. Fue muy especial. Los desayunos inmejorables.
