“We had a marvellous time at Caracal Lodge. It was a wonderful away from it all experience. Magtree Cottage was very comfortable and well equipped even though there is no electricity, power being supplied by gas appliances, paraffin lamps and LED lighting. It was magical to wake up with views of the resident giraffe family as well as zebra, impala, horses and a pet pig! Outside there was a braai, fire pit in a lovely shaded area and a small pond. Exploring the 300 hectare game park there...

“Eden Estates was a bit hard to find but a great place for the night on our way to Krüger Park. All really nice, great kitchen, showers, beds. ”

“The wooden houses are located in an awesome environment, with a lake. The mountain road to arrive could be very dangerous on foggy days, and it was very scary at some points. Our house was very cold (it is in the mountains and it was very rainy) and had no heating system but a fireplace. It could have been awesome to use it but the wood provided was too wet to burn, unfortunately. The breakfast was very nice, with plenty of tasty homemade products. “Very beautiful place in tranquil setting with all the needed goods in support. Place was clean and the fire places useful with the cold night. Like the baths in the bathroom making for a very romantic get away and setting”

“This is a rustic camp. I stayed at one of the tent cabins. I loved the quiet, solitude and being in the trees. I woke up to birds chirping in the morning and numerous animal noises throughout the day and night with the occasional monkey jumping on the roof. I enjoyed the camping vibe that added to my Africa stay. Andre was a excellent host and helped arrange day trips. My only issue was hot water and I believe Andre fixed that issue.”

“The cleaning at this property is done superficially. They need to do a deep clean as there is dirt in the corners, smell from the sheets and blanket, dust on applicances and slime in the kettle. There was a service door to the bathroom which isn't itself a problem, but I could smell cigarette smoke coming through every so often in the morning.”

“I stayed at the cottage with my elderly parents and 10 year old son. The house was lovely, clean and fully equipped with cookware, dishes and even a washer and dryer which came in handy as two of our suitcases had been delayed. We visited in the winter (late July) and it was cold! We made a fire in the fireplace which was lovely but it was hard to warm up the house, even with the wall heaters. I kept wishing I had brought my slippers as the stone floors froze my feet. But a fully recommended...

“The expectation was not as it was advertised. Its a self catering but there is no refrigerator in the room. The building is delapidated with a smell. We ended up checking out early. ”

We had to find alternative accommodation. The owner claims to have tried to arrange our refund, to no avail.
