What was unique was that its originally a school, great concept, large room, tried carrying on the Viking theme. But it needed A lot more put into it.

Norse Skul will be an amazing place to stay, when they’re finished construction and decorating. The repurposed school has a lot of fun places for kids to explore, and it’s centrally located in St Luniere. However, our bathroom is walls were still just drywall, there were construction materials in the reception, the hallways and our room, and the beds were very creaky. Better systems need to be explored for self check-in or staff being on site to welcome guests - it was a little odd as a guest, being asked to greet and check-in another guest.

Eric was super helpful in making a space for us to stay near L’Anse aux Meadows during this busy season. It’s a strange place, this old school, but our room was spacious and very comfortable, with a large screen, kitchen, and nice big tub. Much thanks!

This property is essentially an old abandoned school that has a few classrooms converted into rooms. The school is filled with junk lying around- and the furniture in the rooms looks like it was gathered from garage sales…the building is not secure- anyone can walk in at any time and we did not see anyone else in the building. There were dark hallways and wires and bits of this and that everywhere. There were also a bunch of unsealed large water bottles at the entrance, so we were unsure if the water in the building was safe to drink. All in all a very creepy and unpleasant stay.

The accommodations are in a converted school. It appears the owners are working hard to convert the school, but the finishing touches are not complete. The room was spacious, very clean. Well equipped kitchenette. Bathroom was clean but the trim around the door and the tub are not complete. I would stay here on another trip to the area. Kudos to the owners for their efforts.

The owner is in the process of converting an elementary school into a hotel. It’s a work in progress. There is a game room, library, gymnasium, and more. I’m sure it will be great when it is finished.

Eric was very helpful in obtaining anything we needed to make our stay more comfortable. We did not see a kitchen area - we ate at the daily catch which is nearby

The ad provides the wrong contact information, and calls/messages go unanswered. The booking specifies continental breakfast which there is not. While the room provides a fridge, microwave, and hotplate for cooking along with a couple dishes there is no cleaning towels or sink other than the bathroom to clean anything. No hand towels for the bathroom and couldnt ask for more as texts/calls went unanswered.

We spent 3 nights here in Oden’s Den. We chose this property because of our interest in how a school had been repurposed. We were blown away by the size and comfort of the rooms. Some of the rooms had beautiful views from their windows of the icebergs close by. This is a great spot to be for easy access to many sight seeing trips. And the recommendation for dinner was excellent as well (we went there twice). Our host was friendly and knowledgeable. Great vibe here.

Room in an old school converted into a rental unit. Beds, furniture, etc very ‘well used’. Plumbing exposed, cabinets and shelves unfinished…..but, it served our purposes. There was plenty of room inside and everything worked. It’s just not an aesthetically pleasing accommodation.

It is a converted classroom in à disaffected school. It was a long time since I slept in a classroom. The bed was excellent, the couch comfy, the room was quiet and property heated. On the not so positive side, there was no water in the kitchen sink, the bathroom water was only lukewarm room, and there was no kitchen towel, making washing dishes difficult. We understand that the owner is making improvements, and do recommend this place.

The idea of staying in an old school was very interesting and neat. Unfortunately our experience was horrible though. After checking in we realized we didn't received our room we booked. We payed for a larger suite and one with a full kitchen with and oven/stove. We didn't see any staff the whole time we were there after check in and didnt feel comfortable even bringing it up. The shower had hair in it, old used towel hung on the door and the hot plate for cooking was so dirty and only one burner was working. Our key tag said the name of the suite that we payed for but the room door had a different name. Clearly there was a mix up eith over booking and the owner knew.. honestly just a horrible experience for us. Empty beer cans and garbage in the gym, game room and halls.
