Lovely Thanksgiving

We stayed at Rosegill in 2023 for Thanksgiving and loved it so much, we went back again this year. The property just has a wonderful feel to it. It's well cared for and the owners and caretakers do an excellent job taking care of their guests as well.

Wonderful experience

All members of the family loved this house. There was something for everyone. We all love to be outside. There was swimming, hiking, fishing, bicycling, and kayaking. We also toured Williamsburg and Jamestown, so there is so much to do. The rooms were spacious and very comfortable. We only wish that we had planned on more days to stay.

Rosegill Wedding Weekend

We got married in nearby Wake, VA and Rosegill was the perfect location for out of town family to come and stay for the weekend. It was gorgeous and I wish I could have stayed longer and enjoyed the space more.

Rosegill is a fabulous getaway in a beautiful setting.

The historic house is spacious, comfortable, and well equipped. Perfect for a gathering of family and friends-modern kitchen, multiple dining areas, comfortable enclosed porch overlooking the river, bedrooms with great linens, walking trails along the river and a naturalists delight. Loved every minute and can’t wait to go back!

Stunning

We stayed at Rosegill with extended family for Thanksgiving, it was more perfect than we could have imagined. Beautiful house with a great cozy feel, even though a large house. Grounds are amazing and they were so good about helping us with anything and everything. Highly recommend a stop by Urbanna Trading while there - great wine and gourmet goods.

A beautful corner of Heaven !!

Rosegill is the most Beautiful and Peaceful place I have ever stayed. Quiet and relaxing. We walked around the lakes and down by the river each morning and evening. The charming town of Urbanna is wonderful. We can't wait to come back next year. The history is amazing but with top of the line modern features.

Amazing Property & Location!

From the house and pool, to the beach and lakes, to the dock and the swing out front; everything we needed to both relax and be entertained was within our reach. The owners were extremely helpful and communication was excellent from the start. They provided contacts and information for restaurants, boat charters, the much needed golf cart rental, the history of the property, and so much more. Definitely a five star vacation location and an exciting history lesson all in one.

A Treasure

Rosegill is fantastic. We loved our stay at this beautiful, historic plantation. There were 10 of us including 2 children and the house was ideal. We enjoyed the pool and the beach, rode bikes into town, and lounged in the sunroom. There are not many places that could accommodate all of us comfortably but Rosegill had room to spare!

Pictures don't do it justice. You must experience the grandeur and wildness of the property. Then enjoy the modern conveniences of a great house and pool. Truly a unique experience for those looking to get away.

Great experience

Property is amazing- a large variety of things to do and the house is large and clean. Things to do for all ages. Places to explore. To future guests, highly recommend using the property’s recommended vendors for boat and golf cart rental. The golf cart is invaluable, the property is vast.

A step back in time (in a good way!)

What an amazing opportunity to enjoy a historic home in this storied area of our country. There was so much to see and do in the area that we didn't leave much time to enjoy the house! And there's SO MUCH house and property to enjoy! I can only imagine how nice it is in the summer, when you can use the pool, and when the water in the river and lake aren't so cold. Conveniently located close to town, but still private and quiet. The owner and caretaker were both great to work with. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

Ancestral Home

We enjoyed every minute in our 5x great grandparent's home. Response time to a stove problem was almost immediate. All was resolved quickly and efficiently. We can't wait to come back to Rosegill. The house and views are breathtaking.

The perfect family reunion location

We gathered for my parent's 50th anniversary with ages 18 months to 80 years old - there was absolutely something for everyone. The little ones enjoyed the pool, beach, rabbit spotting and running with kite on the expansive lawn. While my parents enjoyed watching it all from the comforts of the sun room and the sun deck. Be sure to arrange naturalist tour and sunset cruise in advance - both a wonderful addition to the holiday.

A Wonderful Experience

My family had an extraordinary few days at Rosegill. It was exactly the getaway we were looking for. The beauty and elegance of the home are remarkable. Wonderful Property!

The property is fantastic with lots to explore - even in the middle of winter! The lakes, river, golf cart rental, fire pit, swing, etc. all provided the kids with plenty of entertainment. Enhanced internet was excellent - no issues with multiple people working remotely. The historic home of course has some quirks due to its age, but it is very spacious and was very clean. We look forward to our return trip!
