The Registan has minarets that appear to be leaning outwards. This was old Samarkand's place of commerce. It still houses a bazaar within its walls.
The Bibi-Khanym is also known as the Friday mosque. We were there just after the end of Ramadan when thousands of men would have crammed this space. The space under the arches was cool on such a hot day.
That's gold leaf all over the mosque walls. #colorful
