Property charges hidden fees after you book on VRBO
After booking on VRBO this property manager forces guests to use their separate identity verification platform. The last step of that is then to force you into choosing damage protection. This was an additional charge that is NOT mentioned nowhere in the VRBO listing. You could instead opt for “no coverage and instead put a large hold on your credit card for a damage deposit, an option which itself came with a smaller, but non-refundable fee changed to the guest through some sketchy platform that shows up on your credit card as “SUPERHOG.”The property management group was not willing to do anything about this. Beware that even though it seems like you are booking this on VRBO, you are actually only paying VRBO a booking fee - the bulk of your payment is charged by the property manager. So even though VRBO acknowledged that they should not be charging these extraneous, undisclosed fees, since the property manager now has your credit card information, there is nothing VRBO can do for you. This property manager (Stylish Sanctuary) wouldn’t even answer the phone or return messages when VRBO support called to try working it out. There were a couple of items not working in the rental unit and they never showed up to fix them. I’m not usually someone who writes bad reviews, but I would advise you to steer clear of this property manager, and furthermore be very aware that on VRBO you may actually be charged through another platform.
