Este lugar es bueno para personas solas o parejas dispuestas a ahorrar pero no con familia , es un lugar muy muy humilde con colchones montados en un marco de madera hecho rudimentariamente a mano y todo es viejo y mal pintado pero si se ve todo limpio este sitio no tiene nada de sofisticado y es un sitio para viajantes solos que a veces se quedan gratis para conseguir una cama y comida intercambiándolo por trabajar en el mismo hotel así que puedes ver personas viajantes aventureras que te pueden parecer desarregladas pero son simples viajantes por el mundo Ten en cuenta que es solo para Dormir y ahorrar Dinero

Good location, clean rooms
The location is very great, couple of minutes away from Ocean park beach, a Walgreens right across the street, great restaurants and bars around the place. The rooms, sheets, towels, and bathroom were very clean, when we had a question or an issue we got help/solution within a reasonable time-frame. Only negative I may mention is at one or two nights there were people partying after 10 PM, which was designated as the time to calm down for the comfort of all. Besides that, if you want to meet new people, stay at a cost/performance place in a good location, Villa Eshta is suggested.

Didn't see a single employee until checking out. Was told there was no drinking water available because the bar was closed. Had to pass through a dorm with lots of people sleeping to get to the room which is very awkward. Mattress was very bad.

I cannot recommend this place enough! The comments saying the staff are amazing are beyond true. The staff made Villa Eshta an insanely friendly and welcoming environment. Not only did they give perfect recommendations, they went out of their way to give us a real Puerto Rican experience. Villa Eshta is located in a good area... close to beach, as well as one of the main shopping/eating streets. The rooms are exactly as expected from pictures online. If you are looking to experience more of San Juan than just the beautiful beaches, Villa Eshta is absolutely the place to stay.

Hi Kareem, the room you selected is our lowest cost private room in the hostel and it's priced as it is due to it's location alongside the dorms. We also have rooms available with more privacy, including private bathrooms, for guests who wish to have more space to themselves. This information is available to guests when booking the rooms and it's only a small price difference for the upgrade. Also, we're aware that you're group left more than an hour and a half after check out time and neglected informing us of your late check out or paying for the additional time. Check out time and the late check out fee are clearly listed in the hostel rules. In the future when you are booking rooms in a hostel, we hope you thoroughly read the listings and rules to improve your experience and out of respect to your hosts.

Homey, convenient to beaches and authentic PR dining, we would stay here again. Location is off of the main street, so not as noisy. Staff was helpful and friendly! The kitchen and sitting area in our room were a surprise bonus, although we were only staying one night.

To be fair, I'm not the target market for this place, but our night here was one long sleep-deprivation torture simulation: loud male voices right outside our window into the wee hours (so close we could hear entire conversations), house music blasting nearby at 3am, cars rumbling by blaring music, more loud voices and banging around after the clubs closed, bright lights piercing through the curtains allll night long, early morning trash trucks - it never stopped. Do NOT stay here unless you are the type of person who can fall asleep and stay asleep in the middle of a house party. Also, there was no hot water. The place itself was clean but dumpy. I am astonished that they can charge $160/night here. I feel duped. Yes, it's close to the beach, but IMO not worth the trauma.

The property should be condemned, the floors are not level. When you get up from bed, you feel like you are going to fall on your face because of the floors are leaning. At first although our reservation was for a double bed they gave us a room with two twin beds.

Our room was a small apartment. It had all the necessities for a nice stay. The street can be noisy but nothing some ear plugs couldn’t fix. Hot water with the flip of a switch. Soft bed. Awesome staff! Thanks Villa Eshta!

Stay anywhere else! Please don’t stay here.
We stayed in one of the “apartments.” While the staff at Villa Eshta were incredibly helpful and pleasant, our interactions with them were the silver lining to a very thick grey cloud that left us checking out early and paying for an additional hotel night elsewhere on the island. The bathroom was unusable. The sink pipes was not connected to the wall, which we discovered while turning on the faucet and having water splash on our feet from a stray pipe. The shower area had toiletries and other remnants of the poor guests who most recently shared our plight. On brand, the A/C either didn’t work, or worked in such a manner that our room was hotter than the rest of San Juan. The heat often left us feeling like we’d had fever dreams. We spent our nights anywhere and everywhere, in bars and restaurants, only for access to clean toilets and a well ventilated / air-conditioned place to sit. It was only after we tired that we would return to our nothing-but-spring beds (but I guess we got what we paid for) and our room that was so dusty, the three of us still have sore throats and cough constantly. One of us couldn’t speak by the end of our 2nd night, prompting us to move to the Marriott in Miramar and forego the money we paid for our 3rd night at Villa Eshta — makes us wonder, was it dust or mold? For reference, we flew Spirit Airlines back home and our experience — even with two infants on the same row and economy seats — was more pleasant than our stay at Villa Eshta.

They said the room was private but it was actually in a shared dorm with other people. They should include that type of information in the room details.

This was a good property for a two or three night stay. The staff was very nice to us. I reached out about a concern for cleanliness and when i arrived everything had been cleaned well. our room had its own bathroom but i know there are shared bathrooms there so be aware. you have access to a kitchen with a fridge, microwave, and portable stovetop. we didn’t use it but it was there. the location is great. there are restaurants in walking distance, walgreens right in front, and a 1 minute walk from the beach. only down fall was that we had no hot water for our showers the whole time we were there. in the bathroom when you turned the shower on the light went off so it was dark. overall you get what you paid for and I enjoyed my stay.

I loved the Egyptian Artwork. Cute hostel, and outdoor patio in the back. Staff was nice and friendly. Owner is super welcoming and helpful. Grood location. There is curfew in PR so go out to eat or order food early. Stayed in the two bedroom dorm and was good for a night. Shower didn't work.
