Super Host With the Most!
This one is the gold standard of vacation rentals, and one which we've had the pleasure of returning to for the second time. Immaculate, well-appointed, excellent location, plenty of parking and easy access are beyond what is advertised. We live in Europe now, and when we return to our native San Rafael/Marin County, this cottage makes it all the more welcoming, this time during our last week of a 30-day USA trip. Thanks again, Eda, for the being the best-ever host. Your attention to detail, thoughtfulness and warm smile are greatly appreciated. We look forward to future stays! Jean & Steve

Extra friendly communication
Eda could not have been nicer! my dog played with her two dogs every morning in the nicely fenced yard. The small cosy cottage was a perfect refuge for me while I visited local family during the holidays. Would stay again!

San Rafael cottage
Wonderful property!! Perfectly located for a stay in the Bay Area. PLovely California backyard— hot tub a definite plus! The 2 small rooms- bedroom, living room and kitchen were pristine and efficiently organized. We loved our host Eda who was super friendly, welcoming, helpful and fun!! We will definitely come again to stay since we just had our first grandchild!!

Great location ideal for younger folks
I had no internet (ATT) until last am! I am limited mobility- very small space, difficult toilet shower facilities. Otherwise charming garden setting just right for summer. Great location!

Hi Donna, The internet service is Xfinity high speed Wifi so I believe that you mean your cell service-ATT was weak. You told me that the internet was working. I’m sorry that the bathroom layout didn’t work for you. You didn’t ask any questions before arriving or let me know about your mobility issues. Others have not had any problem with the tub/shower. I appreciate your positive charming comments but I’m sorry that you found it difficult and couldn’t rate us 5 stars like the vast majority of guests have.

Great Little Place to Stay
Eda was a great host. The property was as described, and in a great neighborhood. There was convenient access to local amenities within a short drive (or walking distance). There was plenty of on-street parking available. It was easy to check in and check out. The wifi worked great! A great place to stay.

Quaint convenient place to stay in San Rafael

Very nice
The property seems recently renovated and is very pleasant. All the appliances are up to date along with the bathroom. Everything is perfectly clean. One suggestion to the owner ( who is very pleasant and helpful) -- the space is very tight and would benefit from getting rid of the very large glass top desk which hs not needed and replace it with a small bureau with drawers for our stuff. Also, the hassock is over large for the small space and something smaller would also allow for more room to move around. But, beyond that, we lived our time there.

Perfect Place for Our Stay
The space is small but perfectly organized and utilized. The outdoor space is lovely and we made frequent use of the outdoor seating. We will definitely come back on our next trip to the Bay Area.

Great place near downtown San Rafael
We loved our week in Picnic Valley. Great little place, nice amenities and comfy bed. We loved the outside space and the hot tub! An easy walk to the downtown and groceries and restaurants. Our kids and grandkids live in San Rafael in a tiny house, so we need our own space. We will be back!

A peaceful cottage getaway for a workspace or vacation destination
This was a tremendous experience from start to finish. Eda is a responsive, kind and professional host. The cottage property exceeded my expectations - and was just as described and shown on the website. I stayed here for a week to work without distraction and it was a perfect "home away from home". The location is fantastic, parking is easy, the neighborhood is calm and quiet and safe. I would strongly recommend this property - just not on that dates I want to rebook :)

The host is fabulous, the cottage is cozy and warm, walking distance to restaurants
Eda is very helpful. The cottage is small but works well. The neighborhood is quiet and safe. Parking was always available next to the entry gate. The protracted rain was a bit noisy on the skylight. The jacuzzi was enjoyable. About a 6 block walk to an inviting bakery. Access to the freeway was easy. My dog and I enjoyed it.

Cute cottage in beautiful neighborhood
Eda was an attentive host who made all our interactions with her very pleasurable. The cottage is cute and well equipped. The decor is very tasteful and thoughtfully laid out. We stayed at the cottage for a month and our stay was super comfortable with a grocery store within minutes. Walking distance to great bakery, Muffin Mania. Highly recommend this property and the host.

Lovely, cute little guesthouse! Perfect for couples looking for a getaway!
Eda was awesome! Always responsive and we had everything we needed. We were visiting San Francisco, and the location was not too far for us to drive in everyday. Felt safe in a private area with lockable gate. :)

San Rafael Cottage
WE loved the easy access to 101 North/South, all the bridges, and the cottage was easy walking distance to downtown San Rafael's wonderful restaurants, Rainbow Ice Cream (yum!), and a lovely, quiet neighborhood just to walk in. Our host, Eda was great--helpful, friendly, but gave us our privacy. Garden flowers were beautiful as well as plenty outdoor seating for morning coffee or afternoon tea. The cottage is small, but plenty comfortable for two. We would definitely stay again when we visit!

Tranquil garden in a great location
Cute guesthouse with everything you need set up in a calm quiet garden. Enjoy a relaxing environment! We appreciated the quick access to Marin County and San Francisco which is where our visit was focused. Easy and well coordinated check in process.

Sweet cottage!
This cottage was an all-around good find for us! Great location and it served all of our needs to a T ! The lovely yard area was a bonus. After a long drive from Oregon, we were permitted an early check-in, which made a huge difference to us and our plans! Thank you for a really nice stay!

Just right for us
This rental was just right for us. The location is walkable to downtown San Rafael, and is in a nice neighborhood. We used and enjoyed the outdoor area and hot tub. The cottage is small, but has enough room for 2, separate bedroom and living room, enough kitchen for a little cooking, and good wifi. We would stay here again.

This property was the perfect place for my mother to stay while he house was being remodeled. The owner is so nice and went above and beyond to make my mother feel welcomed. Although my mother is happy to be back in her home - she will miss the cottage and her time there. Thank you!!!

This is a well planned, equipped and convenient property. We have stayed twice and gotten well acquainted with San Rafael. The cottage in on a quiet side street in a lovely old neighborhood. It is an easy walk to downtown and restaurants. We will stay there again.

A cozy get away
I have stayed at Eda’s property a couple of times in the last couple of years and have thoroughly enjoyed it. Being a detached cottage in a quiet neighborhood in the corner of Eda’s backyard patio and garden and because of such efficient use of interior space I found myself wanting to stay longer in the mornings and looked forward to coming back in the evenings.

Cozy and well appointed
After my mom's death we needed to find a place to stay for a week close to her home so we could help to clear it out. This cottage was a perfect choice. Just enough room for the two of us. Just the right stuff in the kitchen area for us to be able to fix simple meals. The small refrigerator prevented us from stocking up on more food than we could consume during our stay. Visits from the neighborhood cat were entertaining and welcome as we missed our own felines. We can highly recommend this cottage. It would be even better with added air conditioning.

This is an awesome place to stay!
I grew up in the area and had not been back in years. This property is so cozy comfortable and convenient to almost everything in Marin and San Francisco. It was clean, quiet and comfortable. If it's available I would book it again for a return trip next time I find myself in the area. The owner Eda was great with everything we needed.

Great neighborhood, near shopping and restaurants, beautiful outdoor area to sit in.
The owner was helpful and cordial. A tv in each room was nice when three adults are staying! It was easy to commute into San Francisco. The bathroom was great (everything worked, unlike the hotel we stayed in for part of our trip!) The rooms are smaller, but very clean and cozy. I would highly recommend this property!

Beautiful location near Gerstle Park
This two room cottage is a great alternative to a hotel room for one or a couple. It has a private entrance from the street with parking available. Located behind the main house it has beautiful gardens with a small outdoor table and chairs and a hot tub and gas grille available. Eda, the owner, is very nice and the place is quiet with everything you need to prepare meals, a desk, a small couch and table and chairs and TV's in both rooms. The bed is very comfortable with plenty of pillows to sit and read or watch TV. Downtown is about 5 minutes by car or a 10-15 minute walk on beautiful tree-lined streets.

Living well in California
The property itself was delightful. Small, but everything we needed. The private garden with hot tub was a great place to relax with a book and glass of wine. The hostess was superbly responsive, offering to help with anything we needed and providing great suggestions about activities and events in the area, as well as restaurants, etc.

A Perfect Hideaway in San Rafael
Eda offers a very well appointed guest house, located in a quiet, older residential area of San Rafael. It's close to shopping and dining, and freeway access, yet has a very secluded feeling, nestled among lots of old growth trees. There is a large, inviting terrace to sit among the trees and read, or enjoy a meal. We took advantage of a well maintained private hot tub, which is easy to open and operate. The guest house itself was a perfect size, with a cozy bedroom, well appointed bathroom, a cute kitchen with full gas stove and oven, a half refrigerator, and all you need for morning coffee or tea. The kitchen shares a room with a small living area, a love seat couch that doubles as an extra pull out bed, and a large desk - working area. We found the guest house very comfortable, private, quiet, and not wanting for anything. Eda is a gracious host and was very helpful with information about the area. She has created a detailed book of restaurants and things to do in the area. Her guest house has a magical quality to it and we look forward to staying with her again when we next journey to San Rafael.

A peaceful sanctuary . Perfect space . The energy of space is so lovely .
Upon arrival Eda greeted me to her perfect lovely cottage . A secret garden pathway leads to the entry of a perfect little gem ! The fresh air circulating throughout the lovely decorated quaint bungalow . Eda is so warm and welcoming . She instructed me on my walking tour to several cute cafes and market all walking distance . The location is so easy to walk around , the immediate neighborhood is quiet and beautiful trees with sidewalks . Uber picked me up easily and pretty much 15 minutes I was in all directions from wherever I needed to go ! I look forward to coming back , as I’m certain I found my new Marin getaway !

I can honestly say this was one of my 2 favorite places to stay near Kentfield.
It was very easy to communicate with Eda and she was also respectfull of my need for a quiet space in the evenings after spending time with my grandson during the day. The cottage was lovely, clean, comfortable and quiet. The skylight in the bedroom was a nice surprise. I would highly recommend Eda’s place for one or two people.
