We came to the area to visit the National Park. We had such a great time exploring for 2 days and the best part was returning to this wonderful VRBO! It was so clean and comfortable. We enjoyed the beautiful view of the river and the fire pit in the yard. We were able to cook dinner here because the kitchen was pretty well stocked with anything we needed. Our kids enjoyed the room they had to spread out and the wonderful homemade cookies left for us to eat. This was such a great place and if we are in the area again we will definitely try to stay in this house.

We had a great time! The house was clean and cozy, very welcoming hosts too! We loved the chocolate chip cookies and doggie treat! The stay has a beautiful sight. We enjoyed the peaceful surrounding.

We stayed for a long weekend here and had a great time. The location was spot on, right next to the new river! The house had everything we needed, with extra things like; two coupons for two bundles of firewood, fire starter, and s'more sticks.

Upon stepping in, we noticed how clean the property was! Then we saw the view-so beautiful! There is a train track and a boat launch nearby, so there is a bit of noise. BUT the view, the extra little amenities, and the thoughtfulness of the hosts make it worth the little bit of noise surrounding the property. We have already recommended this property to friends

Clean and Comfortable

We had a lovely stay. This house is kept immaculately clean and is nicely updated. It is a quiet, calm and peaceful place to return to after a day of hiking in the gorge. If we come back, we would definitely stay here again.

Cottage get away

Very happy with our stay! Home was clean and had great views of the river. Highly recommended, the occasional train added some character to the stay. Enjoy the fresh chocolate chip cookies

Sweet Cottage

Our host was wonderful. We had cookies waiting for us upon arrival and dog treats for our fur baby! The cottage was spotless and there was enough clean towels for an army. View of the river was awesome. We even watched the trains go by!

Beautiful View

This vacation home was absolutely incredible, offering breathtaking views that made our stay even more special. The house was spotless and thoughtfully stocked with everything we could possibly need, making it feel like a true home away from home. Its fantastic location provided easy access to all areas of New River Gorge National Park, allowing us to fully explore the beauty of the surroundings. For those who are light sleepers like me, it’s worth noting that the nearby train tracks do have activity through the night. Nonetheless, our experience was amazing, and would love to stay here again in the future!

Great stay near National Park

We stayed 5 nights and were very pleased. The house was very clean with nice extra touches. It’s clearly been updated recently. It was convenient for all areas of the national park and we hiked every single day. I was initially worried that the close train tracks would be too noisy but it was not bad at all AND my almost 3 year old grandson wanted to see every train that went by and was excited every single time. We had a great time. The owners were great to communicate with and were very responsive.

A birthday get-a-way!

My husband and I rented the cottage for his birthday get-a -way. He loves to fish and that is the reason we chose this cottage on the New River. The cottage was immaculately clean and the owner was gracious and very responsive to any questions. Although the cottage is out in the country, it is still convenient to towns and shopping in the area. Although the road and railway in front of the cottage didn’t bother my husband, the noise did bother me. The country store just a block away is very cute and the people working there are very friendly. It is a cute place to browse. Again, I would like to say that this is probably the cleanest and most well equipped cottage we have ever stayed in.

Home Away From Home!

Loved staying in this house! From the jar of delicious cookies, to the case of water in the refrigerator and extra toiletries in the bathroom… everything was thought of to make you feel at home. Our toddler had a blast watching the boats from the back of the house the train from the front. The house was absolutely spotless and the beds were comfortable. If I could pick up the house and put it in a different location, I would. However, the general store was very convenient and everyone in the neighborhood was friendly. This rental is going to be hard to beat for our future vacations.

Beautiful Scenery and Relaxing

This was our second stay at this property. Love sitting on the deck and enjoying the beautiful scenery! The house is so welcoming with a welcome note from the host and cookies on the table. Also loved hearing and watching the train! Great hosts. Can’t wait till our next visit!!

New River Gorge vacation

The area is beautiful. The house is a great place to watch the river, fishermen, and birds. There were two egrets that frequented the vicinity. We even got to see one eating a 4-5 inch fish.
