We only stayed one of the three nights we had booked because the air conditioning was not working, and the fire alarm needed a battery, both of which the host claimed she had never heard from other guests. As the only other guests were there in cooler months, the air makes sense. However, the fire alarm was brought to her attention in a previous review, and she simply turned off the breaker to the fire alarm. And since the alarm is about 20 feet in the air, as this is a loft apartment, we were unable to change the battery. After failed attempts to get the A/C fixed, we contacted VRBO support. After contacting VRBO support multiple times, we finally received a full refund, including cleaning from the host. I encourage possible renters to closely read all reviews. In the end, in my opinion, I do not believe this host meets VRBO's home away from home standard at this time.
