Pueblo-Style Gem w/ Terrace & Gazebo - Mountain View & Nearby Hiking Trails

Casa de las Piedras

Our calendar is updated in real-time & our nightly rates are accurately displayed. Simply enter your desired dates and click 'Book Now!'

Nestled at the base of the Ortiz Mountains, this rustic Pueblo-style 2BR, affectionately known as Casa de las Piedras, is one of a kind. The Southwestern abode is decorated with regional artwork, pottery, and folk art. Enjoy plenty of outdoor space to unwind and take in the surroundings. Kick back on the stone terrace and bask in gorgeous sunsets and mountain views, or enjoy an al fresco lunch in the gazebo.

Hike nearby mountain trails and observe the desert wildlife, or take the quick 20-minute drive to the heart of Santa Fe.

Please note that four-wheel drive vehicles are highly recommended to access this property during all seasons.

LIVING AREA

Stone floors, exposed vigas ceilings, and a decorative shepherd’s fireplace give the contemporary living area an authentic Southwestern feel.

Enjoy views of the back terrace and the Ortiz Mountains beyond from the new full-size sofa bed or love seat. Or unwind and watch a movie on the large Roku TV.

KITCHEN & DINING

Beautiful wood cabinets and paneling line the fully equipped kitchen, which includes a gas stove, microwave, and dishwasher. You’ll also find all the dishes, cutlery, and cookware you need during your stay.

Sit down to home-cooked meals at the wooden dining table for four.

BED & BATH

The spacious master bedroom boasts a plush queen bed and an office nook filled with books, while the cozy second bedroom offers a full-size bed and a TV with an antenna and Amazon Firestick.

The quaint bath features dual sinks and a tub/shower combination.

OUTDOOR AREAS

Out front, a seating area for four is surrounded by a rock garden. Follow the path to a gazebo with a dining table for six and hanging lights for evening enjoyment.

Just outside the main living area is a stone terrace with multiple chairs, a dining table, and wonderful views of the Ortiz Mountains.

EXTRA AMENITIES & DETAILS

This dog-friendly home offers complimentary Wi-Fi, a wood-burning stove, an outdoor grill, and parking for three vehicles. Although this home is not equipped with AC, it is rarely needed with Santa Fe’s mild weather at 7,000’ elevation. Fans are also available.

This home is not accessible friendly and may not be suitable for young children or those with mobility issues. There are rocky uneven surfaces, multiple steps, and a cliff-side patio with an 8’ drop and no guard rail.

Accessing the property via a four-wheel drive or all-wheel drive vehicle is advised during all seasons.

LOCATION

This home is perfectly located for outdoor adventure; simply step outside to enjoy hiking, mountain biking, bouldering, and birding.

Drive 20 minutes to the Santa Fe Plaza for a variety of community concerts, markets, galleries, museums, and events. Or drive 25 miles to Ski Santa Fe, which features a number of seasonal activities in addition to skiing.

If you are bringing a dog on your trip, the pet fee is already included in your quote when selecting ‘Yes’ to pets. If you would like to add more dogs, please contact us. The pet fee is per stay and ranges between $150 and $200, depending on the bedroom count, and will apply for each additional dog.

Parking notes: There is free parking available for 3 vehicles.

Damage waiver: The total cost of your reservation for this Property includes a nightly damage waiver fee, plus tax if applicable (the “Damage Waiver”). (A discount may be applied for stays of 28 nights or longer, if permitted.) Authentic South West with Museum and Gallery Vibes
This Winding Road home was an absolute delight. Its authentic adobe/pueblo style architecture provided a genuine Santa Fe living experience and colourful collections of artefacts, Ingenious textiles, rugs, paintings and other items of whimsy surrounded us indoors and out. Warm, comfortable and inviting the home is nicely equipped although the lack of an oven might pose a deterrent for some. The road in from the highway is bumpy but was not a challenge for our small SUV.

Great, unique place - views were amazing!
Loved the house - so quaint, quiet, and comfortable. The sunset views were amazing. I loved being away from town just a bit, away from the hustle and bustle. Great place...and I'll stay there again.

Awesome views!
We loved this adorable adobe! We saw something new daily. The art work is amazing. The rock work is exceptional! We saw shooting stars from the back deck at night. The drive up is bumpy but not awful at all. We drove up in a Tahoe with no issues. The house is spacious and the beds were super comfortable. Everything we needed was provided. Would definitely recommend and stay again if we’re ever near Santa Fe. Also, check out Upper Crust Pizza and Carmelita’s in Eldorado at Santa Fe. The Plaza Cafe is a must for breakfast!

Good... a little confusing when contacting "property manager". She did not live in Santa Fe or Arizona or Southwest America. ... keep it local.

Unique and Lovely
The whole home is really unique and interesting with tons of really cool details and architecture. It was also really comfortable from the furnishings to a sense of calm and peace. The outdoor space is phenomenal. The photos do a good job of capturing it but it's actually more interesting than photos can really show - there are stone paths that go all the way around the property, cool garden features, and wonderful back patio with an incredible view. I come to Santa Fe frequently and this time I brought my daughters to show them why I love this place so much. This home really helped showcase why this is such a special area.
