Located beach front on beautiful Longboat Key, this resort offers all the amenities of a large hotel with the privacy and seclusion that has Silver Sands guests returning each year. Relax on our private beach, walk on our soft white sand, take a dip in our heated beachside pool, or enjoy a complimentary chaise lounge and beach umbrella while breathing in the fresh salt-water air. Practice your golf game on our putting green or relax on our beautiful beach with your favorite novel. Wireless Internet access is available in the privacy of your individual unit, at the garden area or on the pool deck.



    Accommodations: Silver Sands Gulf Beach Resort is a relaxing retreat located directly on the Gulf of Mexico on the northern-end of Longboat Key. Choose from our various unit styles including hotel rooms, one- and two-bedroom garden view units, and one- and two-bedroom beach front units.

Lovely property

If you are looking for a quiet getaway, this is your place. Located right on the beach. Beautiful heated pool. Everything I needed for my 4 night stay. I took a 3 mile drive to Coquina beach and took the free ferry out to the pier. Sarasota is a short drive south and there were lots of cute shops. Great place, I would definitely return.

Silver sands

We have stayed here quite a bit over the years it’s a great location and we love the privacy of the beach . Just had some concerns on the overall room , the shower drain didn’t drain , toilet wouldn’t stop running , bed was super hard and uncomfortable. The location is great just wish the rooms got the maintenance and much needed updating. We keep coming back for the location but the rooms are starting to show wear and tear of popular demand .

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our room was very clean but smelled horribly of disinfectant. We had to open the door and turn on the bathroom fan for ventilation. Our bed was comfortable and the resort was calm and quiet. The property was well maintained. The day before out checkout we received a list of chores that we had to complete before we left. We were required to strip the beds and place our towels and linens on the floor; we also were required to empty the garbage, and put the bag in the dumpster. Was this not part of our $100 cleaning fee?

Reviewer Comments: Perfect location on Long Boat Key, right on the beach with heated pool and just down the street from Harry's deli where we got beach lunch to-go several days. The accommodations are modest and resort is smaller, but everything you need for a few relaxing days in the Florida sunshine. Great value and would choose to stay here on our next trip to Long Boat Key.

Unit was good but ti y ( no sink or stove) vs other units we've stayed at at silver sands, a little hotelly vs resorty. Parking was tight. Residents were fine. Desk person, Margaret was great. Received a notice by email from rva that we didn't read til after we’d left regarding the check out process ( strip sheets , remove garbage ,etc) that was not part of our check in notes or in the unit, so we hadn’t done.

Caution, NOT as Advertised

Rating Details: The property manager was somewhat unhelpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was more than happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Pictures and description are better than the real thing. Black mold in the shower was gross. The only window has a hurricane shade coving it, thus the room was very dark and unable to get any air moving through unit. (not hurricane season) There were no beach umbrellas as advertised. Many of the beach chairs were broken and discolored and should be replaced or thrown away. This is one of the few units on property that still has a window air conditioner which was rather inefficient and our weather was in the 70's. The beach was great and the pool seemed clean and heated. The manager could have been more helpful with requests for soap, towels etc. You really need a car at this location as there is no public transportation and uber/lyft are hard to come by in this area. I would be interested in returning to area, but am afraid there may not be many rental choices. Walked to RVA office to explore options in future and was directed to another office at other end of island. (they didn't know we walked) Silver Sands is more if a motel rental than a resort.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We were looking for a quiet weekend getaway and Silver Sands fit the bill 100%. From check in to check out Margaret was wonderful. The room was exactly as described. Perfect for two. The only thing I would look for differently next time is a room with a screened in area. We knew this room didnt have one but will upgrade next time. We would absolutely stay here again.

Beautiful Beach

Checkin was very easy. Studio was spotless. Right on the beach and close proximity to restaurants.
