we had an interesting stay. we got to villa lantana and we didn’t like it at all. it was older than it appeared in the pics, pool was tiny, the upstairs bedrooms were basically in a different building. and the drive to/from town was harrowing!while this could have derailed our trip, we mentioned our displeasure to the zindis people and in 24 hours, we had a wonderful, new house!!! amazing service. zindis coco office found us a house in hermosa and we transferred to the hermosa office folks. they were also wonderful. alex, the house manager, was great. always responsive, helpful, and even found us beach chairs!!

View is amazing. The drive up is intimidating at first, but gets easier and is all part of the experience. We had our kids upstairs and the exterior stairs were different, but also doable. The pool and view were the biggest hit of the trip.

Check-in was at 3:00, however, because they were cleaning the property, they didn't let us in until 3:45. At check-out time, I asked to leave an hour later due to the late check-in, and they told me it wasn't possible. The pool pump didn't work during our entire stay; someone finally came to fix it the day we left, so the pool was dirty the whole time. The house was fine, but I'd give the cleanliness a 6. Otherwise, it was okay.

The villa is extremely run down. The pool was constantly dirty even though we got the pump going. It still wouldn't keep it clean. When we arrived the pool was low on water and full of leaves. For a villa that sleeps 12, there are only 4 pool lounger chairs. The place desperately needs a renovation. The doors are old and catch on the unlevel floor. We had 2 families stay and there's only outdoor stairs to get to the top level. The King beds are old and extremely noisy if you move the tiniest bit. There were stains on multiple towels and sheets and rugs. Red stains all over the bathroom walls. We mentioned a few things to the management and we got an apology and they came to clean again right after we checked in. All we noticed was the dirt pile was cleaned up outside. For the price, we were extremely disappointed. That being said, the view is stunning and the air conditioning worked very well.

Your own piece of paradise

The title says it all. We spent a week in March at this property with 4 adults and 2 kids and it was completely amazing. Not only did it have a breathtaking view of the ocean and of the incredible sunsets each night, the house was comfortable, cool, and quiet. Bonus points for having air conditioning units in each bedroom. We spent hours in the clean refreshing pool before and after activities. The property is about 10 minutes from the beach and amazing restaurants and a short drive to hiking, animal sanctuaries, and all the various adventuring of Costa Rica. I will also never forget wandering outside to see howler monkeys in the trees next to the driveway. The property manager was extremely responsive and helpful. Costa Rica is a magical place and this rental is a perfect place to experience it.

Lovely home no hot water

The six of us really love the house. We were there for eight days and not one time. Did we have a warm shower no much water pressure. The property manager did their best and even installed a new hot water heater, which failed to heat the water. Luckily it was beautiful weather in the pool was refreshing. The previous renters had broken a table and chairs that were just stored to the side of the house so we did not have that upstairs on the balcony. It’s a very nice home but it does need some updates.

This home is an incredible place for a family. Everything is well maintained and taken care of. The communication between the host and us was superb to say the least. Alex is without question the very best in Costa Rica. If you have any questions or need something he is there to help you either in person or via phone. I would highly recommend this property. You will not be disappointed in any way.

Perfect for large family

Great experience at this Vrbo for a large family. Spectacular views, all the necessities, well stocked kitchen, awesome patio/pool space where we spent every evening hanging out, grilling while the kids (and adults) played in the pool. House manager was attentive and friendly. Would absolutely stay here again.

Perfect stay in a beautiful house!!

So, we rented this 4-bedroom house as well as the 5-bedroom house up the hill for a family reunion of 17 people. Yes, that is a whole lot of people to coordinate! This home housed 7 young adults and we all had plenty of room and privacy. This house is perfectly configured - every couple or solo guest had their own bathroom, every room has an incredible view and access to outdoor space, and the common area was spacious and comfortable!! The pool and patio were a hit - providing lots of different places for family members to hang out. The kitchen and kitchenette were well stocked and spacious and provided the perfect place to gather for snacks while the cooks in the family prepared meals. The large sliding doors provided amazing views from inside the living and dining room, and the view from the pool was to die for!! On top of ALL this, the Zindis team was the absolute best. They were responsive, helpful, and caring throughout our stay. In particular, Bryan helped us negotiate great excursions - he helped the entire group of 17 with zip lining, horseback, and hot spring adventures, he negotiated a very luxurious boat for 12 of us to go fishing, and he helped get two of our guests to San Jose safely. All of these complicated logistics meant that I kept bothering Bryan, but he was so kind and generous with his time. This house PLUS Zindis made our family reunion so special. Thank you!!!

Perfect home for family or friends getaway

The layout of this home was perfect for our getaway with friends, as each couple/family had their own bedroom and ensuite. The upstairs has a kitchenette and a dining table, which was suitable for those of us who were up early and/or needed a quiet space to work. The downstairs has a more substantial kitchen, a dining area, and leads straight out to the pool deck, so this was our group gathering space. The house is located at the end of a long narrow road, and you will need to drive everywhere, but the location is very quiet and away from the hustle and bustle, with little traffic going by. It is also high up on the hill, so you enjoy beautiful views and breezes There were a few challenges and missing items when we first arrived, but Damian quickly addressed them all, and we were able to enjoy our week away with friends.
