“Perfect place to sleep.”

“Hotel was clean and the staff helpful. Breakfast was very good but thought it was a little expensive. Had to pay for parking but this was reasonable and it was on site.”

“I'm not sure that for price and location the Midland can be bettered. Right in the middle of town but not noisy,(I was on an upper floor), also the breakfast had a good choice of both hot and cold dishes. The staff were really helpful and friendly. Aso free parking. The only minus we found, was that the USB ports weren't working - we did report this.”

“This an impotant historic property with fabulous grounds but has been upgraded to a clinical level. Very clean but no soul. Needs aome fwminine touches. Shelving, pictures, hooks etc. No retaurant facilities or breakfast. Basic but adequate”

“Moved from the bull to the shepherds rest as an upgrade prior to arrival. Out of 4 rooms (party of 4), rooms 10 and room 4 no heating. The bull may have better but I’d avoid the shepherds rest. Also none of the TVs worked in any of the 4 rooms and Wi-Fi password not shared. A shame as the rooms were fine even if the showers are a little small. Place was clean and obviously has been invested in. ”

“Value for money hotel. Fixtures and fittings are tired but the bed and bathroom were clean and comfortable. Great value cooked breakfast for £7. Road a bit noisy. We were able to leave our car behind the building for the day which was great. If stairs are an issue/heavy luggage pays to be aware you might have a few flights of steps to climb depending on your room! Staff very helpful and friendly.”
