  • A perfect getaway spot, on a peninsula on the West River just across from Galesville. Houses on the point are mostly waterfront and neighbors are friendly and quiet. Say hi or just enjoy the sunset from the porch or the dock. Kitchen is fine for cooking, though nearby restaurants in Deale and Galesville are tempting and Annapolis is only 20 minutes away. If you are a boater, the Bay awaits! Galesville is even closer by water and you can kayak to dinner. I love going to this peaceful place, and I hope you will too.

    The house is available at reduced rates during the colder months, a perfect spot for a sabbatical or writing that book. It's cozy in winter with baseboard heat, and the fireplace works.

Amazing serene spot

Perfectly situated on the water for a fair price and plenty of room for me and my husband would recommend to anybody who wants a quiet stay with a amazing view

The cottage was very comfortable, and you can't beat the view. My husband and I enjoyed relaxing and looking out at the water, and the sunsets were beautiful. The bed was surprisingly comfortable, and the entire place was well appointed with everything you need for a short-term stay. The owner is extremely friendly and responsive, and quick to make suggestions for local places you might want to check out. We enjoyed our stay so much we've decided to reserve this cottage again for our next trip back to Maryland.

So much fun! The house and location were perfect! I had so much fun kayaking and walking around the gorgeous neighborhood- there were friendly ducks/geese that would come up to the lawn and sleep right outside the windows. This was a perfect get away.

Beautiful vacation getaway.

The house was very clean with all needed amentities plus. Mary was very responsive to any questions, including suggestions of local beaches. The view is incredible, especially late evening. Location wise, you are within 1-2 hours of several major cities. Will definitely plan to stay here for any future trips!

Perfect and rustic

We really enjoyed the simplicity of the cottage - no bells and whistles, but that's perfect for us. The location and views were outstanding and the enclosed porch faving the water was wonderful for relaxing with a good book.

Another great visit

Wonderful place to stay south of Annapolis. Yes, it’s an older cottage, with all the requisite quirks you’d expect. That’s part of its charm, just as much as the sunset views and peaceful neighborhood that feels like you’re on a small island.

Quiet Memorial Day weekend Getaway

Idyllic retreat on the water

My wife and I had a wonderful weekend on the water at this lovely house. The property is clean and well stocked, perfect for a cozy stay-in or a home base to see the Bay or day trip out to Annapolis. Mary was very communicative and helpful, and the setting is beautiful in a very friendly neighborhood, a few minutes drive from groceries and local dining (check out the BBQ Pit down the road!)

Charming older home with amazing views

The place was exactly as pictured. The location was perfect and the view was spectacular. Check in and out was very simple and the owner is very responsive. I had no problems during my stay but we had communicated before and after. I highly recommend this charming home.

Quiet retreat with short drive to D.C.

My family stayed at this VRBO and it couldn't have worked out better. Small quaint house tucked away by the water was very peaceful to come home to after a busy day touring D.C. Many things to do nearby with just a short drive. We enjoyed the kayaks that came with the house with a 10 minute paddle to a fun restaurant. Mary was very responsive to my messages and a very kind person.

Beautiful sunsets

We could have stayed on the porch looking at the water, boats and sunsets our entire stay. In fact, one day we did! We imagine it would be great when the leaves change. We might plan our next stay around that .

Beautiful views

This is an older home with some quirks but plenty of charm! The bed was very comfortable and the wifi/tv worked well. However the real highlight of this home is the location and the beautiful views! This is close to Annapolis, Baltimore and D.C. if you want a quick day trip- but the highlight for us was just relaxing on the dock catching blue crabs and enjoying the local restaurants. The neighbors are all friendly and happy to share recommendations if needed.
