Overall, we thought the cabin was excellent. The cabin was pretty private, everything was clean, and the views were amazing. The only reason for the 4 stars is due to the external reservation system they transfered us to. We booked through vrbo specifically for the additional security and support. Vrbos policies says not to communicate off vrbo, but they were not helpful. I was forced to either loose the money because it was nonrefundable at booking, or sign external agreements and upload images of my driver's license to their site. I have never been asked to do that for any other rental and I felt it was inappropriate when I booked through vrbo, not their site.

Beautiful home! Check in on the 23rd of December! No issues there at all! A code is given you put it in. BINGO! It honestly had everything we needed! Even the kitchen was loaded and being I had to cook almost every night, it was most helpful. We stayed 6nights 7days. Home had so many options for board and card games which was very nice to see. Plenty of space!! Bedrooms were very nice and spacious! However, there was a serious lady bug issue (better ladybugs than roaches lol). The first and second day we were pretty much unbothered. We were too excited about the house and the amazing views from the balcony. But after day two the lady bugs were a bit overwhelming. Getting into our food, crawling on us while we were sleeping, stepping on them and tracking them all over the house. We even brought a few home in our luggage. I mean there had to be thousands of them. Property manager was notified and responded quickly. Also, bunk bed and one of the guest bedroom tvs did not work. Also notified manager. They offered to send out maintenance but at this point we really didn’t want to be bothered. Just wanted to enjoy our Christmas vacation. So they are very responsive. NO SERVICE on this mountain! So thankful they had Wi-Fi for us to connect to. You still might miss some calls and text but for the most part you should be fine. Overall we very much enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend.

My husband and I spent the beginning of the week enjoying the serenity of the cabin. Our adult children and their sig others came for the weekend and there was plenty of space for us all. The views were spectacular, the cabin had ample space and amenities and was VERY clean. We did get to see 1 bear as well! Will definitely come back and stay longer.

We have been coming to the Smoky Mountains every year for the past 15 years and have stayed in multiple cabins. The Hidden Owl Mountain Lodge was by far the most spectacular cabin we have ever stayed in. We enjoyed the amazing long-range views…mountains for miles! The location was ideal and unique from other cabins we have stayed in-there were no adjacent cabins which offered privacy. The first thing we noticed was how clean the cabin was with a great wood/new smell and how spacious all the rooms were. The cabin was beautifully decorated, and had every amenity to include a well stocked kitchen. We thoroughly enjoyed watching the NCAA basketball games on the large screen TV in the theater room. We enjoyed both the hot tub and the fire pit on the lower deck which made us feel we were in our own treehouse. The highlight of our stay was seeing a mama bear and her two cubs from the safety of the elevated deck. This was the first time we ever saw a bears at any of our previous cabin stays. Overall, The Hidden Owl Mountain Lodge exceeded our expectations and will be our cabin of choice for all our future Smoky Mountain vacations.

What a great cabin! Super clean and everything you would ever need in the kitchen for cooking. The views were spectacular and we even saw the bear a few times during our stay. So many things to keep you busy you don’t even need to leave. Thanks for sharing your home with us!

The cabin is beautiful and well appointed. However, the property manager and owner are non-responsive to guest complaints and concerns. Our water went completely out at 7am Saturday morning (no drinking water, no showers, etc) on a weekend rental and we spent the rest of the weekend carrying buckets of water up 1 & 2 flights of stairs from the lower level hot tub to the bathrooms in order to flush toilets. The rental mgmt company and owner were not responsive to our complaint and never called the well company to come out and fix the problem. The rental mgmt company finally offered us a different cabin at 9pm Saturday night, but with checkout at 10am the next morning, it was too late to make the move. Won’t rent from this owner or rental company again.

We narrowed this house down from what felt like hundreds. It has all the amenities a large family could possibly use. 5 bedrooms, 6 baths, gameroom, hot tub, movie room and great views. We made use of them all in this beautiful house. The first 15 minutes of our stay, we were greeted by a curious mama bear and two of her cubs. We watched from the beautiful balcony and they curiously watched us. This visit lasted for an amazing 20-30 minutes, then they made their way deeper down into the mountain. We highly recommend to anyone! Will definitely return!
