Relaxing getaway

The location is perfect for relaxing reset to life!! The view from the back porch of the Smokey Mountains is amazing. The cabin is a perfect couple’s retreat! Greg and Holly are amazing host! We look forward to or next visit in the fall!

Anniversary Trip

My wife and I celebrated our 11th Anniversary in High Expectations and we could not have been any more pleased than we were. This place is the perfect couples retreat hosted by a wonderful couple who made it extra special for us; providing us with a card, flowers, chocolates and wine on our arrival. The home has an incredible view, even on the cloudy/rainy days as it allows you to see why they coined them the Great Smoky Mountains. The saltwater pool was great to have as I swam laps while my wife read/took naps. The hot tub was great as well. The game loft is a really nice touch with skeeball, an old school arcade table and a silver strike/putting game/lawn darts/cornhole stand up arcade screen. The game loft also has it's own balcony with the best views(all of them were great) of the house. The bedroom has a large and extremely soft bed, blackout shades and electric fireplace that'll allow you to sleep as long as you desire. And the massage chair was a perfect touch after a day of hiking in the National Park, exploring Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg/Wears Valley! The home was a 20-40 minute drive of everything we intended to do and that was perfect for us. The drive up, while curvy/steep(it is the mountains of course), was a very manageable drive on all paved roads! We loved every minute of our stay and have had lots of people inquire about the property. We'd highly recommend anyone to choose High Expectations for their next stay as Greg and Holly know how to host someone!

Best place we’ve ever stayed

We’ve stayed at numerous cabins around this area but this one is by far the best we’ve ever stayed. My husband & I spent Christmas here & it was fantastic. The amenities & extra care to details make this cabin so worth it. Will definitely stay here again.

Vacay at High Expectations

Cabin was just as described and pictured ! Awsome views , pool and hot tub were clean and ready . This cabin made the vacation ! Massage chair was nice also. Thanks Greg and Holly ! When we come back we will stay here again .

25th Wedding Anniversary trip

We were up at daybreak, like it or not, most days because the upper windows do not have shades allowing early morning sunshine on the head of the bed. Sunlight from the upper windows caused glare on the TVs & arcade games during the day. The cabin got hot uncomfortably hot in the afternoon (thermostat reached 78 at one point even though <60 outside) from the unshaded windows.

Stunning Views

Wonderful property exactly as advertised and appropriately named "High Expectations"....close to the top of the mountain, private with spectacular views. Just get your groceries on the way in and you won't need to leave if you don't want to. Great place to relax.

Relaxing Retreat

This property is perfection. I am admittedly very picky when it comes to accommodations, and I could not have been more pleased with the property, the host, and our overall stay. The house is new and incredibly clean, the amenities are outstanding for the price, and the views are spectacular. Like many of the other reviewers, we had multiple bear sightings, which was exciting. The property is even better in real life than in the photos. I would highly recommend.

Fiftieth Anniversary Dream Get Away

I have nothing but glowing things to say about my stay at this property! The Host was more than helpful and responsive to communications. Our stay was perfect. It was secluded, relaxing and the perfect place for my wife and I to spend time alone, enjoying each other and remembering great years that we had lived together. Our seclusion was only interrupted by an occasional visit from a bear and her clubs that would occasionally amble through while we could enjoy from one of the several balconies facing the majestic beauty of the Smokies. We never left the property, and I can truthfully say that it was more restful and enjoyable that we could even have imagined! From the hot tub, to the heated enclosed pool, to the best massage chair on the market, this place fulfilled our wishes. Cooking was easy and enjoyable with the gas grill and the like new range. The cold water provided by the water dispenser was perfect. If you want a secluded place to spend uninterrupted time with your significant other, this is your place. Pigeon Forge was only twenty minutes away, but leaving this special place never entered our mind. As you can tell, I would recommend this wholeheartedly to anyone wanting a beautiful place to get away with the one you love.

From finding this beautiful home away from home online to the initial communications to stepping inside everything exceeded our expectations!! Beauty, rest and relaxation in every area inside and out!! We were greeted with a beautiful bottle of champaign and wonderful chocolates and the omg the VIEWS!! This place is amazing. My wife and I had plans of going into town and seeing the sights but we never made it because the house is so great. Little piece of heaven

We absolutely loved our stay. This is a beautiful home, very peaceful. Lots of wildlife and nature. We were quite literally on cloud 9. The owners are very helpful and very responsive. We definitely hope to make future plans to come back. 5 stars all day!

Perfect getaway for our anniversary

We celebrated our anniversary with a weekend stay at High Expectations. The cabin is just like its shown in the pictures but even better in person. Greg and Holly had great communication throughout. They even came out late night to check the pool temp for us and adjust it. There is a contract to sign and insurance coverage to buy after the booking but they offer a refundable option for insurance. We enjoyed the massage chair, pool, hot tub, and game room/loft. We saw bears both nights of our stay from the balcony thru a trail on the property. They come out around sunset. Wears valley doesnt have many choices for food so plan to settle or drive 30 min for better options or cook at the cabin to enjoy more time there. There is a local grocery delivery service (smokey mtn grocery). We would definitely stay here again

Great Place

The place was magnificent and not too many issues. There were issues with internet during our stay and the mattress was not the most comfortable. The pool ,spa, and scenery still makes it a great place to visit.

Perfect!

This is the perfect getaway for couples, close enough to Pigeon Forge but far enough away to be private. The cabin is very clean, beautifully decorated, gorgeous views and easy to find. We spent a lot of our time there relaxing and enjoying the pool, hot tub, games and the massage chair. No need to go anywhere! Would definitely stay again and would recommend to family and friends. This is the best cabin we have rented in over 10 years of trips to the area. Owners even left a gift for us for our anniversary. You won't be disappointed!

Amazing place stay

This cabin is spectacular. The location is great, the cabin was beautiful and cozy. It was just as pictured. We enjoyed the views and will definitely be back. The host were wonderful, they made everything so easy. Also the driveway had optimal parking.

Adult getaway

We wanted an adult getaway and thats exactly what we got! The owners set the house up perfect thinking of every detail from the comfortable bed to having 2 shower heads in the shower to make our stay special. We loved soaking in the hot tub and looking out at the beautiful views. We definitely recommend staying at this house and I'm sure we will again🙂
