Outside there's off road parking for two cars, a private lawned garden with patio and furniture and shared lawned gardens with summerhouse. Grist Mill Cottage is a convenient base for a family with plenty of places to visit that will keep everyone entertained. Note: One well-behaved dog welcome.

The attractive North Dorset village of Fontmell Magna lies between Blackmore Vale to the west and Cranborne Chase to the east, only 4 miles from Shaftesbury and 8 miles from Blandford Forum. The village has thatched cottages and a pub serving good food and ales. Surrounded by an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, there are lots of lovely walks to be had nearby, and within reach are Sherborne's abbey and castle, Bath, Stonehenge and Salisbury.
