“This cottage is exactly as advertised. We enjoyed the location and view of the sea. We did have a little difficulty getting heat the first night but with Catriona’s instructions, it worked beautifully after it started up. We enjoyed having the washer, which enabled us to pack a little less and do a load of laundry half way through our trip. Kitchen was well stocked with all the items needed to make meals at home. We absolutely would recommend this beautiful place in “The Hope”!”

“We were met on the ferry by chance by the lady that owned the house that we were staying in, she led us directly to the property and showed us round the house. The house was exactly as described, clean, tidy and very well equipped. The lady's husband worked on the ferry and on one occasion he phoned his wife and asked her to make sure we were going to arrive on time. The whole experience was perfect.”

“This location was a great place to stay to explore Orkney. We loved the isolated and peaceful area. Plenty to do and see if you are prepared to drive a few miles. Spectacular cliff top walks with an abundance of bird life. The accommodation has everything you need for a self catering holiday. We stocked up with everything we needed from Tesco in Kirkwall after getting off the ferry. ”

Then the harbour front is seconds away Make sure you go into the Albert street car park stay left and turn into, usually a space outside the apartment can park for free. “Superb location in the centre of Kirkwall. Perfect for the two of us. There was an allocated parking spot for this particular apartment just out side of the front door, but someone else was parked in it for our entire stay. This is just a comment, not a complaint, as there was additional free parking near by which we used instead.”
