“We stayed at the Shelby Inn overnight Easter Sunday night, after a day of fishing at the lake spillway. The Inn looks to be a mansion in pictures, but it is also what might have been an upgraded 1950s single floor motor lodge, as well as a two story lodging building next door. Our king room was in the 2 story building, on the top floor. On the day of our arrival, we got the assigned room number and an access code for the door. “ Carpet was filthy and the room wasn't as nice as pictures made it out to be. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful when we asked for an ironing board and iron.”

“We did not even stay... we were there 5 minutes before going to the office and telling them that the room was dirty and disgusting. Dead bugs on the windows seal, the bathtub was still dirty and had hair in it. The room also smelled like some smoked a whole pack of cigarettes. The front desk lady was not very help. I sent a message to Expedia customer service because she said I'd have to get my refund there but no word yet.”

“Parking was great and the a/c did a good job”

“There was a microwave, not plugged in. A working fridge & freezer. The room was booked for 2 people, but only had 1 coffee cup and only decaf coffee. The cups and coffee were replaced when asked. The wi-fi password didn't work as no site was available to use it! The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. Good for an overnight stay!”
