Review of cabin
The only thing that didn't work was the electric fireplace downstairs, everything else was great. They even let me check in early which was nice. I would def stay again. Thanks.

Sooooo relaxing!
Had an amazing time staying at this cabin... we did experience a random power outage for a little over an hour but the owners were soooo accommodating. They let us stay an extra day to make up for the time lost. Will definitely be staying here again!

Peaceful and beautiful views of water
We had a great short stay over thanksgiving holiday in the bucolic hills of Shipshewana. House was very comfortable and the hot tub was terrific. Will stay here again, owners were responsive when we had questions.

Peaceful, Beautiful Retreat
We very much enjoyed our stay at this cabin in a beautiful setting! The location is just minutes from downtown Shipshewana, which was very convenient. It was too chilly to sit outside on the deck (I’m sure that’s great!) but my favorite thing was to wake up, drink my coffee and look out at the beautiful scenery from the family room. The host was terrific with communication and making sure we had everything we needed. The treats they left were delicious and a nice touch! We would love to come back!

Great Girls’ Weekend
The cabin was clean, spacious, and perfectly located. We loved that we could get onto our bikes and ride a short distance to The Pumpkin Vine Trail. It is in a beautiful setting. We loved starting our mornings on the deck. It is in a quiet and friendly location and is close to town. We found everything we needed as far as supplies. One main light was out, but the owner came over at our convenience to fix it.

Perfect getaway-cleanest rental I've ever been in
First off, thank you Iva and Leon for the perfect weekend getaway! We arrived to pure comfort-nice lighting, aromas, and a homemade snack. Not a speck of dust or single bug anywhere... Spotless! Everything is new or so well maintained that it looks new. The quality craftsmanship is stunning throughout this log cabin! (Be sure to read the cabins history-located on top of the bookshelf). There's simple instructions for everything you need to use. Kitchen is well stocked and has condiments and some staples that AREN'T expired. Located on a quiet dead end road. (You can see other homes but we never saw nor heard the neighbors.) There's privacy for the hot tub. The view of the lake was fantastic from the hot tub/patio, deck, downstairs bedroom and the living/dining/kitchen area. We even saw several swans! We got lunch at Rise n Roll-best fresh bread and donuts, and dinner about 30 minutes away at Adam's Lake Pub-best everything! Make sure to check out some shops in Shipshewana, maybe even take a buggy ride. This was exactly what we needed, I can't say enough! Thanks again!!!

Beautiful cabin
My husband and i stayed here for our anniversary. The Cabin was absolutely perfect for the two of us, simple and clean. The town was wonderful, got to see a comedy show and dinner at the blue gate restaurant and theater. You wont be disappointed in your stay here!

Nice & quiet getaway, close to local attractions, the hot tub needs a good scrubbing between uses water was cloudy with an oily film on top of the water, mold on the inside cover and the attached bumpers in the corners of the tub.

Rest and relaxation
A perfect place to get away from the hustle and bustle of Chicago. A lovely well kept community. Cabin was as described and about a six minute ride to downtown. I recommend visiting the animal farm nearby.

Wonderful Low Key Weekend Getaway
This cabin was a wonderful half way meeting place for myself and some friends that reside in Detroit, MI. The listing and pictures were exactly as presented. The communication with the owners was wonderful. They reached out to us multiple times to provide us with useful check in information, make sure we were enjoying our stay and that we could check out a little later if needed. We were even left a treat to eat which was very much welcomed after a long days work and a 3 + hour car ride. They provide all of the comforts of home including a coffee/keurig maker that had a reusable cup in the event you brought your own ground coffee. The house was nicely stocked with towels, paper towels, TP, cleaning products, etc. We spent a lovely day visiting downtown Shipshewana and were in close driving distance to Elkhart as well. The downtown is really cute and has a lot of stores for your shopping or window shopping pleasure. Overall, a great stay and I would be back in a heartbeat!

Bufflehead Bliss
What a great location! We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the cabin. The weather cooperated enough for us to have coffee/tea on the deck in the morning and then watch the bufflehead ducks on the lake from the dock in the afternoon. In between we went shopping in Shipshewana and stopped by a couple of Middlebury bakeries. Totally relaxing time!

Shipshewana Getaway
This property is perfect for a little Shipshewana getaway. I rented the property for a short fall trip for my parents and I. They couldn’t have been happier with the property and none of us were ready to leave by the last day of our stay. Such a peaceful area. You’re within 10-15 minutes at most from everything you would want to see Shipshewana/Middlebury area. Great communication with the owner. Extremely kind and helpful if/when needed. Also was very nice to have homemade treat upon arrival. Very good experience all around!

Nice cabin on a quiet lake
The owners texted me ahead of time and were very responsive to questions I had; the check in process was very easy. While most amenities were provided, there was limited supply of paper towels and toilet paper so we had to run out and get our own. The inside cabin was clean but the outside areas could have been cleaner (the hot tub and grill were not clean) Overall though, I would recommend it for anyone looking for a quiet weekend away and to get some outdoor time. The lake was very serene and peaceful as was the dock and upstairs deck. We enjoyed spending our time there. The owners also reimbursed me for the propane tank for the gas grill so they are very easy to work with.

Super Cozy Cottage
The property was exactly as described. One bedroom with a full bath on the first floor with an open space concept for the kitchen dining and living area. The second bedroom, also with a full bath, is on the lower level. This is a lakefront property and it was exactly what we wanted. The first floor full bath has a small shower stall but the lower level full bath has a regular tub and shower. We are going back to Shipshewana, Indiana, to pick up some Amish furniture that we ordered and will definitely be staying at the same place. We loved it.

Family Getaway
The cabin was great; it had everything we needed. We enjoyed the view of the lake, the hot tub, and room to eat and play some games. It took around 5 mins to get to the center of town, which had plenty of places for eating, shopping, and taking a horse and buggy ride. Finally, the owners of this property were just fantastic. They were only a text away, and were incredibly hospitable to my family.

Serene, cozy getaway only 2.5 hours from Chicago
My boyfriend and I wanted to get away from the city safely during the pandemic and find a quiet, cozy place to ring in the New Year. Iva and Leon's Shipshewana cabin was exactly what we were looking for! Some of our favorite things about the cabin were the view of the lake from the kitchen and living room, the super comfy reclining couch, the beautiful and quiet countryside, and of course - the hot tub! Iva was a great communicator prior to our arrival to ensure we were all set and was always available in case we needed anything. The cabin was super clean and tidy upon arrival. We had a very relaxing and enjoyable stay, and look forward to coming back in the summer when we can take advantage of the beautiful deck to grill out and spend some time by the lake! Thank you so much Iva and Leon!

Perfect Getaway
We would give 10 stars, we went for our 15 year wedding anniversary. We loved all the wood detail it was beautiful. The hot tub was perfect, their are neighbors but you would never know. It’s so quite sitting on the upper deck you can hear the horse buggy’s on the main road. Beds were very comfy, kitchen perfect size and our hosts were always available but the cabin was perfect we didn’t need anything. The special treat was so good, we bought a few more jars for Christmas gifts. Super close to downtown Shipshewana where their is the best chicken dinner with homemade sides. So good!! The other direction is Middlebury a great little town with great food and shopping. We had a great time and are looking forward to come back in the summer along with making it our yearly anniversary trip. Thank you again for the hospitality and the amazing sunrises.

Christmas Getaway!!!
Took the wives parents for a couple of days to shop and see a Christmas play. Had breakfast at the cabin both mornings and enjoyed the view out over the lake as the sun came up in the morning. The hot tub was nice at night to sit in and watch the stars and relax at the end of the day. We would for sure stay again if we take another trip up that way again.

Much needed R & R
This was the second time for us at the cabin. We usually stay at The Farmstead Inn, but found this beautiful retreat a couple years ago on VRBO. Impressive, clean, majestic view and many amenities are all adjectives to describe this little piece of heaven. This cabin has a fantastic location.....close to town, but with great privacy. We will definitely be back. The only thing we wish it had....was......a bathtub.

I booked this for my elderly parents to safely getaway during covid since they have been cooped up. My family had already stayed here in May and just loved it. My parents loved it and said it was very clean and peaceful. They enjoyed the little walk to the lake and saw an eagle fly over.

Great location with lots of shopping and good food nearby. Iva made sure we were enjoying our stay and left us a treat. Most places were closed Sunday but enjoyed staying in the cozy and comfortable cabin watching movies, playing games, etc.
