Great Safari Tent
Checkin was quick and friendly giving us a full explanation of the park. We stayed in the Safari Tent accommodation for a couple of days and absolutely loved it. They are fully self contained. The Safari tents were modern, very clean, bright and airy. The shower was great and a good size with good pressure and plenty of hot water. The tent area was very large with a queen bed, an extra rollout bed and a lounge. The tent had a full fridge, microwave and sink. While there is no table inside the covered verandah had a very nice 6 seater table. The Safari tent had a very high ceiling with good lighting and fully screened including a security door. The Safari tent was a nice change from an apartment or a hotel room. The park is a very easy 2 minute walk to shops and eateries with a nice beach across the road.

The park is well set out with shops and restaurants within walking distance. The facilities of tennis court, games room and camp kitchen were added helpful facilities. The cabin we stayed had a well equipped kitchen and an outdoor verandah space with table and chairs. A common use BBQ was located near by. Spare batteries for the TV and DVD controllers would have been helpful.

Great place with variety of accommodation types.
We stayed in a "safari tent", a fixed tent style accommodation. This was roomy and clean with good facilities. A barbecue area was close by which was kept very clean. The entire area of the park was spotless with maintenance/cleaning staff continually doing their rounds. All staff friendly and efficient. My first time in this type of accommodation and I found it a refreshing change from a hotel/motel room. Shops, restaurants and beach all within easy walking distance. There was no TV ( a plus for us) and wifi could be a little slow at times, but overall we enjoyed our few days here.

Rang the property direct and was told that they didn't have the accommodation I want. Yet when I was looking online I found the accommodation I asked about so I booked online. Front room staff could of lost a booking by not giving the correct information.

This is a great holiday park and the cabin was comfortable and well equipped. THe only issue was pluming , tap noise and poor washers causing taps to drip - I have bought this to the attention of the park in my refview on their site. One big asset for me as an aged disabled pensioner was that they allowed me to bring my vehicle through the gate so i could pack my belongings without having to lug them a fair distance. Booking on line was convenient and excellent courtesy was given on arrival.

The park itself is amazing. Located right across from the beach - full of friendly holidaying families enjoying their vacays. Beware some of the cabins are OLD and you may find a few surprises in them! Our surprises were: vomit looking stain on the lounge, only the kitchen taps worked well - bathroom, toilet and shower in particular were all besotted with issues, pest issues - ants in the loo and roaches out at night.

We came to the park in a big group and booking online we didn’t realise how far away from each we were. The ladies at the front desk were happy to help us swap our cabins around so we were closer, with out a drama. Very helpful and happy.

We stayed in the safari tents. These were great but would suggest they add tea making facilities within the tent rather than having to go to camp kitchen.

I was extremely disappointed with the room. It was very cold and no facility to warm the room. The extra blankets for the sofa where dirty. The Front entrance had bird pool all over the deck. The ceiling fan in the bathroom had fallen down leaving cob webs all over the floor. No glasses in the room. The park was empty so they could have offered an upgrade.

Hi Dorothy, We are sorry to hear you did not enjoy your stay with us at Shoal Bay. Unfortunately the accommodation type you had booked with us was one our Safari Tents. Our Safari tents are a unique accommodation offering in that the Tent and Bedding is supplied so families can enjoy the option of camping without having to setup a tent. These tents are fitted with bathrooms, bedding, a fan and tea and coffee making facilities etc. however do not provide the comforts of our cabins, such as Air-conditioning or Cooking Facilities. We do however have camp kitchen facilities and barbeques for all guests to use. We do appreciate you taking the time to pass on your feedback and will follow up with our maintenance and housekeeping teams to ensure they inspect and rectify the issues reported. Please remember to contact us on reception if you ever experience issues during your stay as our staff will ensure we address any concerns including attendance or room move options if required. Love the location. Have been visiting and staying at the park for 15 years. First in a caravan and later staying in a cabin. Always had a great experience. Will be back.

Very friendly check in.The location was amazing, a few meters from the beach. Our cabin was spotless and comfortable. The facilities were very good and overall I would class as excellent value for money.

super clean, super practical, shower was good which is always a big must. Blinds were a bit useless in the master bedroom though woke up to the sun at 7am after a late night

I like that it’s accessible to the beach and have a playground to keep the kids busy. Friendly staff who helped us book for the dolphin watch. Only dislike is the poor wifi coverage so we had to use our own data
