WiFi was intermittant

2/10 Terrible

This Unit is Not Worth the Price!

Rating Details: The property manager was very unhelpful. The vacation rental was very dirty. I was very unhappy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This unit was so disappointing on so many levels. Zero star rating. Our unit was in a complete disarray upon check in. Picture frame fallen off wall, curtains not even on the hooks, closet door in master off the track, shower curtain not on the hook. Dirty coffee mugs, & silverware left in the dishwasher cannot tell if clean or dirty. The unit did not have a lanyard left in the room for beach chairs for the weekend. We had to get a lanyard when the office reopens on weekdays. The worst of all is the master bedding had dirty duvet cover with brown stain all over. The pillow cases had stains. When I addressed housekeeping for a replacement of linens, I was informed the unit owner does not have replacement for the dirty linen. She took the dirty duvet and pillow cases to clean and left us with no pillow case covers for two nights because staff is off on the weekend!Even worse the air conditioner does not cool higher than 72 degrees the unit was HOT. Unfortunately, one of the bedrooms did not have a ceiling fan to cool the room. We had to keep ceiling fan on for the entire week stay to cool the unit.There are leak stains all over living room and bathroom ceilings. Gross!The washing machine is so small it can only be equipped to wash one clothing item or one beach towel at a time! Master shower doesn’t drain quickly, so you are showering in a puddle!!Unacceptable & Very disappointing! This unit definitely is not worth the price they advertise. We booked our unit a year in advance. Why the unit was not ready for our arrival is beyond disappointing for the price we paid. Uncomfortable stay!

Too many beach rules!I understand limiting chairs but very confusing on chair beach placement! Not good! No front row, no waters edge, wrong color of chairs! Watched several families being relocated or switching chair colors! Not a good beach vibe!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We have stayed here many times and have enjoyed it every time. One small issue this time was the specific unit we stayed in. Although beautifully decorated, the kitchen was not well stocked. We tend to cook in a lot while there (so we can enjoy the beautiful views in the evening) so we appreciate a fully stocked kitchen

The property is run super well - from cleaning crew, to maintenance, to people on the beach. Everything is clean and well maintained. Note: the units' condition vary because they are owned by different owners. The one we stayed in, was newly renovated so it was beautifully designed and in great condition. All in all, will probably come back.

SPECTACULAR!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This was one of our favorite places to stay EVER! The condo is newly renovated and is beautiful! It’s spacious and comfortable with a large balcony and a great view of the ocean. The location is amazing...the beach is your backyard and a walk across the street takes you to restaurants and shops. The trolley to take you to the Village of Siesta Key comes by every half hour. We booked again for next year!

The condo was well maintained, it would have been nice to have a large frying pan, and the dryer wouldn’t dry our clothes. Otherwise it was perfect!

GOING DOWNHILL!

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I’ve been going to HOS since 1977 & the past couple of years I have been disappointed. The property itself has been impeccably maintained, however, the individually owned condos are NOT keeping up! Dirty& stained carpet, drains that are backed up, drapes that are broken, mismatched furniture & key fobs that don’t work. This year I stayed in #411, last year we stayed in #414 and I wouldn’t rent earthier again until the owners stepped up & modernize, give a good deep clean & replace furniture, broken lamps, outdated chandeliers, etc.

Nice little condo, decor dated but clean. Have to use a key for the elevator which was a pain in the behind otherwise a lovely stay

Another Amazing Family Vacation

Only a 3 out of 5 rating

Property listed as accommodating 6. Only accommodates 4. Have to pay extra for any more than 4. No pull out sofa bed. Will charge u if u want a blow up mattress. Refrigerator has visible rusting on outside.. No Keith…old coffee maker. Limited dishes, silverware, etc. Decor passable as a 3 out of 5 rating. Paid for the view, but other less expensive units that actually accommodate 6 had just as nice a view of water. Other renters very rude. Loud small kids running in hallways late into night. Older kids were having races with shopping carts that were to b used to bring groceries up elevator to condo. Banging into walls. Very rough play in pool by guests…throwing footballs (hitting other guests), jumping in and using large blow up toys to jump off into water. Gas grills outside were left open by disruptive guests during rain storms……useless for others to use. I heard from other guests that Security was called . The beach was delightful. Facility provides many beach chairs for guests and 2 areas to wash off sand. Maintenance personnel very friendly and helpful. Early start for major construction next door….no sleeping late.. Being charged extra for a 5 th adult in an advertised condo that sleeps 6 started this stay off disappointedly. Beach and good weather and time with family made the trip worth the money

Would definitely recommend this area to stay. Siesta key beach sand in like powder. The unit was very clean and there's a nice view of the beach from the balcony.

Great Property Bad unit!

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We have stayed at the House of the Sun many many times. We love the area and Mgmt is wonderful. This unit was horrible, in desperate need of updating. Appliances rusty inside and out, cabinets that won't stay closed, microwave so small one can hardly put a plate inside. All kitchen furnishings horrible! Warped pots that won't stay flush to the burner. Pealing grass cloth wallpaper down the hallway. 1970s gold tile in the hall bath with torn & pealing wallpaper. The master bath with its black wallpaper and cracked tiles in the shower. Brown stains on the blue recliner in the living room.Water leak marks on the ceiling in master bath and living room. To think I paid the same price for this unit as I would for others with all the comforts and beautiful updates angers me.The Board should hold owners like this accountable and make them repair their units or charge less for staying there. The property is beautiful and constantly cleaned and improved.Will stay here again but NEVER in unit 411gv
