Not quite what we expected
We arrived and had no issues checking in and gaining access to the house. The first thing we noticed was the noise of the highway. It was quite loud. As we fixed dinner the first night I found that things were not as clean as I would have preferred. There was a drawer with several hot pads in the kitchen but they were so stiff and grungy we had to wash them before we were willing to use them. Some of the kitchen drawers had crumbs in them. The cabinet under the kitchen sink would not stay closed because it was damaged. I used a wooden spoon through the handles to keep the doors from constantly swinging open into the main path throu. We discovered after filling the dishwasher that there was no dishwasher detergent in the house. A sign on the front door asked you to remove your shoes but our socks were so dirty when we got ready to go to bed we wore our shoes in the house the rest of the stay. Several things were in disrepair. The back door was missing the knob and a piece of nylon rope with a knot at each end served as the closure. A metal strip on the top deck step was very loose and several times it tripped us. The stone floor in the master bath that looked so nice in the photos was filthy and appeared to have mud in the grout. The amenities list indicated each bedroom had a fan but we never found one for the third bedroom. The beds were clean and comfortable, plenty of towels, and the outdoor spaces were lovely but I don’t believe I would recommend this unit for your stay.
