The cabin has such a great view of the bay.The resident eagle was fun to watch as were all the hummingbirds!Beautiful location and perfect cabin to relax in!

Great place to stay in Sitka. We couldn't help but admire all of the decor in the lodge and it added to our Alaskan experience. Hot tub overlooking the boats salmon fishing in the bay was a nice added touch. Only a shot drive from town and amenities. If you value peace and quiet and want to stay in a place that feels Alaskan this would be the spot.

Had the most wonderful week at this house!! It had everything needed and the house had the most wonderful views. We had the luck of meeting the owner and he was very helpful and went above and beyond to make sure we had a great week in Sitka.

Magical time spent at Golden Alaskan Lodge. Hosts for the cabin very attentive. Memories for 4 generations have been made and taken home with us. The views of Silver Bay are amazing. Humpback whales seen while drinking our coffee. Great hiking paths close by. My favorite was watching and listening to the eagles in their natural habitat.

Great Vacation Home

Great location overlooking the bay. Lots of beds, complete kitchen and laundry...everything you need. Plus the hot tub and sauna are a big plus. If you have a full house, bathrooms might be a little tight...esp if you have lots of females in your group.

Amazing Location!

Our family of 9 stayed here for a week! The house is fabulous—we didn’t want to leave. We utilized the hot tub, sauna, fire pit and grill. We invited friends from town over for fresh Halibut and Salmon we caught. They told us they had all been to the house for a wedding or some function. It’s definitely a Sitka landmark. (We saw a bear and multiple bald eagles through the binoculars! ) Highly recommend this house!

Quiet, serene & beautiful views!

Loved the location of this home! It’s away from town , very quiet, Surrounded by forest & mountains. On the water & fabulous eagle watching !!! The house itself is comfortable , could use a few upgrades etc….. but overall very nice !!!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Very beautiful with fantastic views. Problems we had were: No shade on skylight over upstairs bed. With the long days that saw rising Sun at 4:30am and not dark until after 11pm. Interior felt overstuffed, not very comfortable. Upstairs bath has no shower. Stairs have very narrow treads and are carpeted. This always made us unsure of footing. If a guest used the bed on 2nd floor landing they have to go down at night for bathroom. The entire upstairs was not really very comfortable.

LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION

This home is all about the location. The views are amazing, close to the trail and there is an EAGLE nesting on the property. Not sure it gets any cooler than that. Moring coffee and evening cocktails had a phenomenal view. Read prior reviews and think people are to harsh. Yes, the decor is older and worn but you are in Alaska and will not beat this location. Property Manager was very helpful. Quick to respond. I will say if you have 10 people the sleeping arraignments are not available. Roll out was provided but no where to really put it. Also, keep an open mind about the upstairs bathroom. Lacks privacy but has an amazing view! Thank you for sharing your home, we loved our stay.

A Memory Maker!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We rented this lodge with some of our best family friends so we had kids on the property with us. This cabin was perfect for our needs with an incredible view and lots of whale sightings! We enjoyed the outdoor amenities and the quiet it offered at the end of the road. With all that Sitka has to offer we spent little time indoors, but we did notice some upgrades that would help make a stay feel more at-home... the dryer and microwave were fidgety so appliance upgrades as mentioned in previous reviews would be helpful. The linens and towels are near the end and it was hard to get the towels dry with the current dryer. I realize these are little things when you are surrounded by complete magic, but these small changes could improve anyone’s experiences; especially since that hot tub is sure enticing and towels were gone through quickly! The host was extremely communicative and helpful, always making sure we had what we needed. He even called us while on a run to let us know whales were coming towards the house! That evening of whale activity alone will be a memory I hold near with my kids for a long, long time. You will rent this Lodge for an Alaskan experience and you will get just that. :)

The Perfect Alaska Lodge!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We rented the lodge to have a middle school graduation party and it exceeded our expectations. The property is beautiful, the views are amazing, and there is plenty of space and beds for everybody. We got plenty of use out of the clean and well maintained hot tub, sauna, and outdoor grill. The owner is so nice and responsive. You won’t regret staying at the Golden Alaska Lodge. I was sad to leave.

The Golden Alaska Lodge was such a treat. We loved staying away from town, the views of Silver Bay are amazing. It is such a peaceful home. The house is very clean, very well equipped for anything you may need. It was very comfortable. We enjoyed the spa and sauna after long days of fishing. Brian and Christine were great to work with. I definitely recommend booking this house if you are visiting Sitka!

Gorgeous home with stunning views

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our family of four stayed five nights in this lovely secluded home with stunning views. It was a perfect place in Sitka to put down roots and do daily activities. The location is very private and beautiful, with views of fishing boats coming and going and a resident eagle's nest on site. Easy access to path to the rocky shore across the street. Hot tub was especially well positioned and lovely. Plenty of space for everyone. Kitchen well stocked and easy to use. There are a few things that could be different: no/very little shampoo and bath soap, which is surprising for a property of this quality, outdoor pebble cement patio is very painful on bare feet and needs an outdoor rug or mat to make it usable, and easy to get to hot tub, as house is "shoes off", very old grill needs replacement, as we were excited to grill our freshly caught fish and found it poor condition. Otherwise perfect!

A Wonderful Place To Visit

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Let me just say that this rental is in one of the most beautiful places I have ever traveled. The location and views from the house are unapparelled. We spent a ton of time on the deck and just taking in the magnificent vista. The house and furnishings were adequate. There are some updates that could be done to make it a truly perfect experience. Windows could use some functional help. The refrigerator is super loud and needs to be replaced as it is clearly 20 years old. Some of the interior trim needs to be affixed, new furnature, grill is poorly maintained, etc. However, the house was clean, nicely decorated and the hot tub is a perfect way to end or begin a day here. The eagles nest was a source of constant entertainment. Would definitely recommend this house for anyone visiting Sitka.
