- Enjoy stunning views of Sitka's Thompson Harbor and Mt. Edgecumbe in this waterfront house.
Recently remodeled, the Hughes House offers great views of Sitka's ocean and mountains from almost every room. Fully equipped with a spacious kitchen, laundry unit, and a large yard great for gatherings or a bonfire by the ocean.
The main floor offers 3 bedrooms. The bed set up is as follows: one room with two twin beds, a queen bed in the second and a queen bed in the third bedroom as well. The main floor sleeps up to 6 guests. There is one full bathroom and one half bathroom for guests to use. The rental also boosts a large kitchen, living room and a TV room.
Guests renting the house will have access to the laundry facilities located in the basement.

Great Memories
My family and I enjoyed a lovely 5 day stay visiting the sites of Sitka. The Hughes house was a highlight … mornings watching the ocean out the kitchen window and eagles flying by was special. Close to a grocery store and downtown nearby made for easy visiting of the Sitka activities. Wonderful memories of our stay at Hughes home!

Sitka family vacation
We loved the house and area. Our family did not rent a car which was fine for us but you have to be willing to walk because town was about a mile and a quarter from town. One day we rented bikes and scooters. Very fun. Would recommend this house and area to all interested in the outdoors

This beautiful home was clean and well furnished. We espeically liked that there were multiple siting areas and game room that promoted the comfort of our large group aged 2-72 years of age. The large grassy yard and beauriful view was appreciated as we were gifted with 3 days of clear sunny skies during our stay.

The house was perfect for our big group. Plenty of room to have your own space plus alone space. Having the smart tv’s were helpful at keeping the kids occupied and the sitting room and view was amazing for adults to chat.

From check-in to check-out this vacation rental was perfect for our family vacation. Property owners were responsive and helpful when we reached out due to weather related flight changes. House was well kept and clean, located right on the water and walkable into town. Everything we needed was available for cooking or bbq including condiments and spices. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay again.

A wonderful house with an abundance of amenities. Our party seven was very comfortable and loved the water front view from the dining table and the living room. Very clean and everything looked so fresh. Excellent wifi and the bear spray and air hornes were much apprecaited as we did alot of hiking. Will stay at the Hughes House again.

The rental was in a good location and not that far from town. The scenic views of the harbor and mountains in the background were an absolute treat. Thank you for having some food and hygiene items on hand that would help any forgetful guests. The place was clean and pretty much comfortable. The Hughes House was the right size for our all our family and the extended family who live in Alaska. Thank you for the use of the property. Thank you for the binoculars as well. It made it easy to look at the wild life, boats and mountains up close. My husband walked down the road to watch a high school baseball game in the rain, which normally does not happen in most places in the lower 48. It was a great time for all. Yes, everything worked.

Hughes House was perfect for our family of 4 + Grandma and Grandpa. There was plenty of room for everyone and the location was great! Walking distance to 'town' and water front made for lovely views of the boats and eagles. We would definitely recommend Hughes House to others.

Great house!
Great house, very clean and well appointed.
This advertisement is actually for a 3 bedroom 1.5 bath house. not a a 5 bedroom 2.5 bath.
There is an additional charge which opens more rooms and an additional bathroom for you. Host was unwilling to open the rest of the home to us after arrival, even though we were willing to pay the additional fee to accommodate our large group. As a result, we were somewhat cramped and had to have one guest sleep on the couch.
I would recommend the house, but the listing is misleading.
