We spent a week here and would recommend it. The location is SUPERB with John Smith’s Bay just across the street and bus lines easy to catch. We enjoyed our stay and especially appreciated the helpful communication leading up to our trip. It’s not fancy, but it was just right for our crew.

Great place to decompress and recharge after sailing from Rhode Island to Bermuda. The beach access is amazing, John Smith's Bay Park is beautiful and it's directly across the street. The host was very accommodating and communication was excellent. Enjoyed our stay and would stay here again.

This property is ideal for beach lovers. Literally steps across the road to beautiful John Smith's Bay beach. The beach is never crowded like some of the other beaches on the island. You can float in the surf, snorkel around the rocks or sit in the sand and watch the waves roll onto the beach. Whatever you choose it will be magic.The host is attentive and accomodating, simply wonderful! Check in was a breeze. Communication was clear and response time was rapid, Lana had every answer to any and all of my questions. The house, as well as the grounds, are a nice size, very clean and with very quiet and polite neighbors. BQ grill, across the street at the beach, has some serious good eats. There is a market that sells mostly non perishable items within a 300 metre walk and another market at about 1.5 kms that has fresh meats, produce, dairy etc. The property is very well located with only a short 10-15 minute taxi ride to St. George's, Hamilton or the airport. We will be back every year, thanks again Lana!

We had a really lovely stay overall. The cottage is simple, comfortable, and very family-friendly, perfect for a relaxed getaway without any fuss. There are a few areas that feel a bit dated or in need of repair, plus a slight damp smell at times, but none of that took away too much from our experience. What really made the difference was the excellent, friendly communication from the host. Elizabeth was welcoming, responsive, and made everything easy. The location is also a huge highlight as it’s right across from a beautiful beach and conveniently situated on main bus routes, which made getting around super easy. With a few updates, this place could be even better, but as it stands, we’d happily stay here again.

Great location, bus and ferry line simple to use , clean and quiet. the beach is literally across the street and amazing. Nicest people on any island I have visited, very safe and amazing water

Very nice accomodation in front of the Beach

The property is well located and we found everything we needed. Our host was available immedeatly whenever we had a question and very kind. We really recommend the Beach House!

What can I say.. loved it here, the location was amazing, each morning was wake up and 1 minute walk across the road for a swim to get the day going. Communication with the host was great and she was very helpful and prompt eg booking taxis etc Definitely recommend here to stay

We loved our stay at Bermuda House Chateau West. It was comfortable, clean, and had everything we needed. Location was ideal, for many reasons. John Smith Bay directly across the street within a minutes walk, bus stops within 1-2 minutes walk, and grocery store within walking distance. Our host Elizabeth was excellent at communication with answers to our questions immediately or next day. Elizabeth sent detailed information on colors and distances for bus routes, grocery stores, and help step up taxi pickup from the airport. I would recommend staying at the Bermuda House Chauteau West. Thanks, Christy R.

A bit outdated but wonderful location.

The host was always exceptionally responsive to addressing issues with the house. The property location was perfect with a wonderful public beach across the street with bathroom facilities and a great beach grill/bar.

Beach house

The beach house was in a fabulous location. Directly acoss the street from the beach and bus stop. The house was well equipped and very clean. Unfortunately we did not have very nice weather and were a little chilly. I would definitely stay there again

Typical Bermudan House

Good stay. As ex-Bermuda residents the furnishings are typical for Bermuda. A responsive property manager, who addressed our minor issues promptly. Would stay there again.

This place is amazing!! Just across the street to John’s Smith beach I’ve been here just x4 days and everything was perfect! Property location is a 10! This house is directly across from John Smith's Bay, one of the best beaches in Bermuda. Beach chairs and umbrellas are provided in addition to all necessary kitchen/bath amenities. Bus stops are conveniently located close by. Well stocked grocery store is a quick bus ride away. Property could use some updating, but did not deter our wonderful vacation.

Amazing location and laid back vibe!

Plenty of space to spread out for family of five (tall teens!) Yes, could use some updating, but you can’t beat that beautiful beach across street and bus stops too! Plenty of beach gear here, teens loved the inflatables! 😄 We would definitely stay here again with the kids👍 Host was very responsive too

Old school Bermuda

Cute cottage across the street from beautiful John Smith Beach. Bus stop out front. Fun Bermudian Food stand with drinks and music above the beach, locals gathering place. Host very helpful and responsive. Nothing fancy and could use updating but we enjoyed our stay!

Perfect location for first time visitors

I am local and I booked this cottage for family visiting for the first time. The location is across the street from my childhood beach. This made for some very happy visitors! The large window in the living room is gorgeous and was perfect for unwinding next to or watching thunderstorms. The kitchen was clean and stocked with everything you would need. The property is along a main bus route and just a few minutes away from some of my favourite restaurants, a wonderful nature preserve, and a grocery store. My only small negative would be that the dated decor could use a refresh but it’s exactly as pictured.

We enjoyed our time at this property! As others have noted, a little outdated. I was actually surprised at how much space we had - was not as evident in the photos. We were there with our three kids (ages 3-9) and felt safe in the area. The location was fantastic and the kids loved having the beach so close. They were also particularly fond of the chickens that would sometimes venture over from next door. Elizabeth was super responsive and the offer to arrange for transport to/from the airport was a very nice bonus.

Perfect location for beach and buses

The most perfect host, could not do enough for us, responded to every request, not that we had many and went out of her way to organise our taxi's to and from the airport. We needed a place to crash and eat with our hectic schedule on and around the islands and I am so glad we picked this one. Close to both the No1 and No3 buses which was more than enough to get everywhere with very little trouble. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen and bathroom adequate for our needs. It is not a brand new build but also not in need of improvements, a lovely "home away from home". My first Vrbo experience, let's hope they are all like this.

Great host and nice place

Right across the beach. Good bus access. Close to two grocery places. Good place to stay if you want to explore the Flatts, st George, caves, bamz, etc. Elizabeth was in touch throughout. Clarifying questions and offering suggestions. We landed late in the evening and everything was almost closed but Elizabeth made sure we had basic milk and water through her assistant. Wonderful person.
