“Room was clean and the beds very comfortable. The creaky floorboards were a bit of an issue, very loud in both the room we stayed in and the one directly above us! It is however a very old building so that is to be expected. The lift wasn’t working but wasn’t an issue as we were on the second floor. We didn’t eat there so can’t comment on the food but the location was ideal”

“Room was great with amazing views. Friendly and lovely staff.. Great location. Also, high compliments for the food we had there. We thought the main bedding could be better with a bit more blackout curtain/blinds as the ambient lights outside were on for a longer period at night - these are some feedback for the sake of it. Will be going back for sure. ”

“We really enjoyed our stay at the Royal Oak. The room was basic, but clean and adequate. The bed was comfortable. We ate dinner there as well and it was delicious. The breakfast was good. My husband got the full English and I got scrambled eggs and bacon. The scrambled eggs seemed to be the rehydrated kind, but otherwise the meal was good. We would stay here again. ”
