“I was really looking forward to my stay at The Candlesticks. However as soon as I entered, I began to have my doubts. The bar area, where the owner received us, looked particularly shabby and it smelt musty. It was 3pm (an hour after checking-in should have started) and the room wasn't ready. It wasn't such a big deal, but it was another warning sign. I was in a single room, which made a certain saying about a cat spring to mind. “Wonderful hotel, really comfortable room, friendly staff and excellent breakfast. We also ate in the restaurant in the evening and the food was outstanding. We will definitely be coming back.”
