Somehow, even better than we expected. The cottage was absolutely charming, clean, and well equipped. The views were priceless. The perfect place to unwind for a quiet weekend. The only thing I would note is that the steps down to the ocean were quite difficult for my 65-year-old mother-in-law with arthritis. Some of the steps are pretty big, and slippery when wet. If you have someone in your group whose mobility is not the best, and you want direct access to the beach, this may not be the spot for you. That said, we drove and accessed the beach from the state park down the road after one difficult climb down and up. This would not prevent us from coming back, however. We will be back!

From the moment we arrived, the views completely stole the show. Being right on the ocean made it easy to relax, unwind, and truly enjoy the beauty of the Oregon coast. This was our first trip to the Oregon coast and it is spectacular!The cottage itself was clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully appointed. We especially appreciated the well-equipped kitchen and comfortable living space for enjoying the ocean views indoors when the weather turned, which of course it did. The location was quiet and a short drive to so many nearby attractions, restaurants, and shops in the surrounding area. It was the perfect balance of privacy and convenience.We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend Ocean Front-Sea Gem Cottage to anyone looking for a relaxing coastal retreat.

Great beach cottage for my husband’s 60th birthday! It had stunning views right on the beach from every window. The cottage was very clean and had everything we needed. The beds were the most comfortable beds!!!! Check-in and out was a breeze. We will definitely be back!

This little cottage was perfect for a cozy, relaxing getaway for my husband and I. The views are amazing, with easy access to the beach. The home was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed. The driveway access directly off the highway with no ability to turn around in the driveway is the only drawback but it’s workable and worth it. We very much enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay here again.

Fantastic experience at this home. The view is breathtaking. The home is sparkling clean and thoughtfully decorated. Everything you need is there for your home away from home. The host was extremely responsive and helpful. We can't wait to come back.

Beautiful view, clean house. Lots of dishes and cookware, cute furnishings and decor. Josh was so fast with response to any questions. The only drawback was the driveway. Very hard to see traffic to back out. Maybe cut down the bush blocking the view or better yet, use the front area of house for a turn around.

This was very good but not perfect. To reach 10 it has to be absolutely perfect, and it is not, but it is really lovely in a lot of ways.The house was clean. It has this amazing feeling of privacy, which isn't as easy to see in the photos. There is great use of fences and shrubbery to make it hard to see neighbors, so you get a real sense of privacy. The beds were extremely comfy, which is a huge plus. The one bedroom has a sliding glass door that opens to the back deck and the beach. This deck also had very nice chairs for sitting and enjoying the amazing view.The path down to the beach might be tricky for some because it utilizes large rocks as a makeshift staircase, but it was fine for us.This would be a great little house for a small family with kiddos. The upstairs loft area is perfect for little kids.I did have to message our host a couple of times and he was very quick to respond and also very helpful.The one drawback for me is that I drive a medium sized car and there is no way to turn around in the driveway, so you have to either back out onto the highway or pull onto the shoulder and back into the driveway, both of which felt quite sketchy. If you drive a small car, you might be able to turn in the tiny nook where the shed and garbage cans sit.All in all, this is a lovely little place with easy access to a clean beach and a helpful and responsive host. Definitely worth checking out!

Great location in either direction of two hours. The rental was clean and we enjoyed cooking in the kitchen. Sharp knives were appreciated. Kitchen was well stocked and had what we needed. Wonderful ocean views and easy access down to beach.Recommend backing into the driveway. Rental is right off Hwy 101 and lots of traffic on the road. Not great for cell reception and there were directions to use WIFI calling when at the rental. That worked ok for us. Overall, had a great experience and we enjoyed our trip.

This place was truly amazing! Pros: amazing ocean views, very clean and well stocked, bonus bedroom in the loftCons: right next to HWY 101, you have to back out on the HWY as there is no turn around spot.

Wonderful retreat

We were here years ago and were so excited to see that Sea Gem had added the second bedroom and loft, so we were able to take our whole family. The place is small but well thought out and very cozy. The location is quiet, and the ocean right out the back window is beautiful. Our kids wanted to move in! Thanks for a wonderful stay.

Simply the best

This little cottage is truly the gem of the Newport coast. We have stayed multiple times and every time it is bliss. The house is perfectly equipped with everything you could need for a comfy stay. It is so clean and fresh when you walk in and super easy to keep that way during your stay. The owners are super responsive and very kind. We absolutely love the Sea Gem and can't wait to get back.

Gorgeous and perfect!

This property is so cute and cozy! It had everything we needed and you cannot beat the location. I just wish we could have stayed longer. The property owner was great when we had a small problem with the septic system. Solved in no time and back to having fun. Beach access is a huge plus! We will stay again for sure! East check in and out too. Highly recommend!!
