  • Get that sense of peace and quiet away from it all here in South Fork without having to sacrifice any comforts of home here at Fisher Haul Lodge! Though this getaway has all of the rustic charm of a traditional cabin as it was built in 1910, contemporary furnishings and modern appliances make this getaway a perfect choice for any occasion. Start each morning on a relaxing note by watching the sun come up on the screened porch with a fresh cup of coffee in hand. After looking out to the plains, Rio Grande River, and mountains beyond, head inside and fuel up with a homecooked breakfast prepared in the fully equipped dine-in kitchen! After a full day of adventure, the fun doesn't have to stop when you return to home base, as the firepit, gas grill, and outdoor seating are more than ready to host a summer cookout in the fresh air. Come winter, you can thaw out in front of the wood stove while watching a favorite movie on the TV. If the kiddos feel like watching something else, they will love the upstairs living area boasting even more seating and another TV. Your private hot tub is perfect for unwinding beneath the evening sky.

Best South Fork Trip Ever

This cabin was the best place we’ve stayed in the 25 years we’ve been coming to South Fork! Very Clean, easy, and comfortable. The location was perfect especially with river access just a few feet away. We will definitely be staying here again.

Great river house

9 nights with 4 adults. The house was very nice with plenty space and comfort. Location is convenient to town but lots of privacy and amazing views. We caught and released some nice rainbows and browns fly fishing. The hot tub was perfect after hiking, golfing and fishing. Vacasa host did a good job communicating and answering our questions. We will be back.

Amazing

We loved everything about the cabin! The fenced in back yard kept the kids contained and the space was awesome! The view from the windows was amazing as well! The walk to the river wasn't bad and we caught a few fish! I loved that it was secluded away from everyone! We will be staying here again! Worth the money! One thing not a big deal but bring a fan in July if you want to sleep cooler upstairs! We loved it!

Great home! Great location!

We live a few hours away in Crested Butte, CO. We met some friends in South Fork for a few days of skiing and exploring. This house was PERFECT! We had everything we needed. The house was clean and nicely supplied. The bedrooms were great and the beds were comfy with plenty of pillows and blankets. The snow-covered view of the Rio Grande was lovely. Our friends will be renting this home this summer with their kids. We'll be joining them, of course!!

Beautiful place to hang out and make memories with family.

We loved the views of the river and hills. The outdoor living space was great for our big family. Very comfortable furniture and bedding. Plenty of space indoors, too. We had 8 adults. The kitchen is well equipped. I cooked all but one meal and had everything at my disposal that I needed. Check the grocery store hours for any shopping items you might need to pick up. The Dollar General was good, but you might have to sub specific items.

Comfortable, cozy, quiet, fantastic

The first thing you notice is the location, well off the road, very private. There are other homes nearby, but you feel like they are miles away. The main room of the house has two huge windows that face the river, giving you an amazing view. The screen porch has plenty of chairs and is a great place to start the day. We never used the firepit, but we did spend one late evening laying on the benches admiring the brilliant stars overhead. The kitchen really is full stocked and the rest of the house as well--trash bags, paper towels, dish and laundry soap, all waiting for you to need them. The hot tub is next to the garage which is fantastic for a bit of privacy, but be prepared to get a little chilly as you walk back to the house. We loved the rustic but renovated look of the cabin and will definitely keep it in mind for future visits.

Location was Great. But the cabin could have been better

Location was Great. But the cabin could have been better. The location was awesome. River was great. View was great. But the beds were not comfortable the mattresses are worn out and need replacing. everyone in the group were unhappy with their beds. Some of the buttons on the microwave do not work and the outdoor gas grill needs to be replaced. The smoker was great but both grill and smoker were in bad location for cooking. (They are not where they were in the listing pictures.) Also if you have dogs to take out at night be aware of the aerobic septic system sprinklers that come on at about 2am. Nice patio furniture very comfortable sitting on the screened in porch(not the same as in the pictures in listing). Outdoor area with fire pit was great. Kitchen was well equipped but all the knives need to be sharpened. We brought our own pots, pans and knives so it worked out. Only other thing they could have had more towels good thing we brought some with us.. Stayed 5 days

Beautiful view, very dirty

When we first arrived we were very impressed with the view. But the moment we walked in we noticed how dirty it was. We were very surprised because the reviews gave a different impression. It looked as if the very minimal was done. Very dusty and dirty. I have a one year old and I had to vacuum just so he wouldn’t get dirty when he crawled on the floor. We killed countless spiders and bugs. There was lots of mouse poop in the downstairs bathroom and kitchen. We saw 7 mice and killed 5. That was very disturbing. We contacted Vacasa and they just kept saying they would fix the problems but never did. The outside was overgrown with weeds and we had to pull a ton of weeds just to use the fire pit. The front bedroom smelled like urine. The only positive is that Vacasa reimbursed our cleaning fee. But their other fees were outrageous for the horrible service they gave.

Perfect property for R&R

We brought our family to South Fork for skiing and relaxation. This house was perfect! From the large kitchen table to eat dinner and play card games on to the two living areas where we enjoyed watching football games and movies, our family truly enjoyed feeling at home. We have many fun memories here. I hope we are able to stay at this property in the summer so that we may fully enjoy the screened in porch and fire pit. This property was very clean and well stocked with with towels, dishes and cookware! Thanks for the hospitality, we hope to return sooner rather than later!

This Home is Outstanding

Warm and cozy, with all the conveniences we needed. It's secluded and right on the river. The owners have obviously put a lot of thought and effort into it. The only reason for the missing star is the property manager. The communication was pitiful and while the property site indicates responses in an hour, I waited days before I finally called to get info (I shouldn't have to call to get questions answered, a confirmation or check in email ). Also the home was beautifully cleaned, but the porch had trash, a large urn full of cigarette butts, and the grill appears to never have been cleaned (years Wirth of gunk).

Christmas vacation

This property was amazing everything we needed it had. The only complaint I do have is that I should of booked it for longer lol. We had 13 people stay with us and there was enough room for everyone well the kids camped out on the second floor living room which they loved. Will be booking again next winter season.

Great stay

Beautiful location and place. Large den, huge windows that overlook the water and mountains. Just a great peaceful place, very clean and made it feel like home. Thanks for the hospitality!
