  • Take a step back in time to the golden age of the Colorado frontier at this one-bedroom-plus-loft cabin in South Fork, a beautifully appointed escape that brings modern comfort to an incredibly atmospheric setting. Whether you're planning to hit the slopes at Wolf Creek Ski Area (22 miles southwest) or ride your ATVs directly from the house into Rio Grande National Forest, you'll be able to enjoy all that South Fork has to offer, all year long. The living space features natural wood, stone, and textiles inspired by the American west, as well as a fully appointed kitchen with a breakfast bar, a washer/dryer, high-speed WiFi, 55' Smart TV, and Direct TV with over 200 channels. There's even an expansive, fenced-in yard where your dogs can run around and stretch their legs. At night, you'll find a king-size bed in the one-bedroom, as well as a queen-size bed, a double bed, and a twin bed in the open loft.

Great stay, nice place. It was a bit dark inside, but otherwise it was great. Nice and quiet and a lovely quiet area for a mountain stay, a lovely mountain cabin. The fenced yard for the dog was fabulous!!

Log home with generous parking

We came to the area to ride our side x sides. The log home is beautiful with a lovely kitchen and laundry. We enjoyed the back porch view. The generous parking was a highlight of the property, with room for 2 pickups pulling enclosed trailers.....with room to spare.

Mountain get away

The cabin was the perfect little place to stay. It was spacious and cozy. The yard was large and perfect for our 4 legged friend to run around in with out worrying that he would get out of the fence. We loved sitting on the porch to enjoy the moring and evening mountain air.

Perfect mountain get away!

Kit Carson was the perfect mountain get away. The fishing was great in the area. Temps were great and our 4 legged friend had plenty of room to run in the backyard with out fear of him getting out. We can't wait to stay again!

Amazing

We loved this cabin!! It had everything we needed and more. Super clean and literally so nice. We can’t wait to come back and stay here again, hopefully longer next time. The beds were comfy and it was very spacious.

Nice place with two small issues.

The well water here smells like sulfur so bad that you will have to buy drinking water at the store! The master bedroom mattress is very uncomfortable!! Other than these two things everything is great!! This would be one of the best places to stay in south fork if these were taken care of!!

Beautiful cabin

This is a beautiful, spacious cabin with a wonderful full kitchen. We loved the large parking area and lighting around the property. It’s also close to the ATV trails and South Fork businesses. The people in town are super friendly and helpful. It was a great getaway for my husband and I.

Overall great place

The cabin was in a great location. The cleanliness overall was impeccable except for the urine stains on the carpet in the master bedroom. Would have been nice to be informed of no AC. That being said, everything else was great and would highly recommend!! All kitchen utensils were provided. Check in/out was a breeze.

My husband and son had stayed twice before so we knew it was great. The remodel even made it better. So nice and had everything we needed. Our dog loved spending time in the fenced backyard. Nice doggy door was a bonus! Really special place!

Feels like Home

This cabin felt like home from the minute we drove up. Our dogs loved the backyard and doggie door. This was a wonderful bonus. I would recommend this cabin to anyone staying in Southfork. It feels like home and provides a perfect home base for exploring the mountains.

Cute cabin, but rules overload

Overall the cabin was very nice. The kitchen and living room and the overall look of the cabin was beautiful. But there were signs and rules posted everywhere. I understand the need for rules, but put it in a binder. The people that are going to follow the rules will read them in the binder. The folks that don’t follow rules aren’t going to follow the signs/rules anyway. The signs posted everywhere were annoying.

House was comfortable & cozy. Everything worked great. I texted with guest services about the dog Pooh in both front & back yard when we arrived to let them know it was not our dogs . They said they would send someone the next morning to pick up but no one showed. Normally, some scatted Pooh would not bother us, but it was obvious that chore had not been taken care of in awhile because of the numerous Pooh piles. That was my only complaint.

Nice place

Nice house pretty new. Kitchen had everything we needed to cook all our meals on the trip because there is not many restaurant options. There is a good grocery store with everything close. Beds are okay, furniture is comfortable and in pretty new shape. Bear themed. Not your usual “hand me down” vacation home furniture. Directv. Had trouble with the heat the first night but maintenance fixed it the next morning while we were skiing. 30 minutes from Wolf Creek Ski Resort. Tankless water heater so you don’t run out of hot water. Fans in the closet if you need a fan to sleep. Lots of fantasy and 80’s mystery books on the bookshelf. Has a dog door and fenced in yard if you bring your dog (we did not.) Nice back porch with picnic table and grill.
