“Staff were lovely but the property needs a lot of TLC. The bathroom is tiny but well equipped. Good location for st Michael's Mount but not much else nearby. Bonus was, they offered breakfast included but we weren't hungry enough for a full English breakfast 😟”

“Tiny room, death trap staircase. Kitchen closed on Sunday evening, probably just as well; full English breakfast was pitiful.”

“The property is tired. Some of the staff worked hard. Some were obviously inexperienced. But the big problem was there were not enough capable staff. Long waiting times for food. Ordering systems that failed. Simple things like getting your own coffee at breakfast did not work. Altogether a lack of energy and commitment to getting things right was missing. No obvious management. Fabulous views, great weather. Frustrating hotel. We stayed one night. Could not imagine staying longer. What a lost...

“The room was very clean and had been newly refurbished. We were a bit concerned that there were no contact details about what do in an emergency with no-one living on the premises. We only realised this on the last morning so couldn’t mention it to staff. I would normally speak to someone directly rather than on a public forum”

“The Pod was amazing, we don’t think the photos do it justice! We had a very comfortable and enjoyable stay and would love to visit again. Kevin and Michelle have thought of everything and were excellent with communicating details for directions and check in/out times. The location is brilliant, so close to St Ives and Carbis Bay, and the main bus route is right on the main road. Would highly recommend to anyone considering staying here. ”

“3rd time staying here - love the house and position is great to explore the lizard. Damp was really bad this year - walls were wet and mouldy in places and kitchen cupboards very musty - cleaners were great coming out and cleaning up some of the mould. Probably damp build up if it had been shut up for a while. But we always enjoy our stay - beds comfy and loads of room for our family and little dog ”

“We stayed in a cabin at the Pirate Inn Penzance. It was brilliant. You could feel the cleanliness. . Everything you needed for a stay was in the cabin, toiletries, kettle, tea, coffee, milk, biscuits, get the idea it was all there ' hairdryer, fridge , little brush & dustpan. Really rea.ly comfortable place to stay. We had dinner at the inn, just a few steps from the cabin. . A good selection on the menu and nice welcoming staff.”

“Darren at reception was really lovely, the lady who served us breakfast in the morning was very lovely and accommodating. The hotel dog ran up to us barking as we were leaving, which was a bit alarming. The bedroom was simple and clean. Unfortunately the hotel has an awful smell, even in the bedrooms, like damp or mouldy carpets. A bee was in our room, luckily my husband was able to get it out. I appreciate it is an old historic building, but a deep clean and refresh of the carpets might help.”

“My partner and I were very impressed with both how nice the establishment was, and how accommodating the staff were. This place was a gem and for a very affordable price. We recommend it for all travellers but especially couples on a romantic getaway. ”

They can't guarantee guests a table 3 they automatically at a 10% gratuity on dinner bills, it says optional on the check Recommend.”
