The hotel was very good but the only downside was the bed. I could feel the bed springs.

Not a good place

Not a good place to stay, the lighting was terrible in the room, the bathroom flooded when we had a shower, the person that runs the motel was rude. There was no power points near the bed which I need for my sleep machine. It says it has wifi however when we got there no wifi or phone service. I can live without the phone service but not wifi when the website clearly says wifi. Also room was meant to be a smoking room couldn’t smoke in it, we were fine with that so we asked about the veranda if we could smoke on there, we were told no, why are you even asking? The area for the pool had no lighting and if people were going to swim in it at night it’s hard to see in the area.

Looks nice but isn’t that good

The bathroom is like a wet room where you shower in the bathroom and it’s supoosed to go down the plug hole in the floor .... it doesn’t! It covers the whole bathroom floor and tries to go into the main room unless you block it with a towel! Also mowing the grass outside the room at 8am on a Saturday - so much for a quiet holiday!

Some effort needed to make it better

Lovely room, lacklustre staff, some really friendly others could care less. Seemed to be a different person every day . Nobody explained how Wi-Fi worked till day before we left on a 5 night stay. Room unequiped - 1 teaspoon and 1 bread and butter knife, no extra blanets or even a toaster. Designated parking would have been nice. Beds comfortable. Food in restaurant ok although cook didn't know meaning of med rare but still tasted good. Lights go out at 8pm so eat early.

It was all good, but it was hard to control the temperature in the shower, and water went all over the floor in the bathroom area, because the drain wasn't sufficient.

Great Country Gem

Staff were very friendly & helpful. The room was great, comfy bed, very clean & quite new. Although unit 2 does have a small issue - when showering the water goes all over the bathroom, staff more than happy to provide additional towels to assist with the excess water. There is a self service laundry - always a bonus. The pool & tavern area were also great with the meals also being of great quality & generous portions.

Great Staff

The staff are wonderful, the facilities and what's available wasn't- no spare blankets in winter, no milk for coffee or tea in fridge; it felt as though I was forgotten about.

A hidden treat

The room was clean and tidy and the balcony overlooking the rainforest was pleasing.The meal at night was excellent,the pork belly was great.

A really nice country feel place to stay. We did a walk for several km's everyone we saw waved hello. a big + is not much mobile reception in the area a few sms's but no calls for us on that day I don't know if normal but hope it is.

Sehr abgelegen vor einer Tankstelle

Das Essen war eine Katastrophe einfach nur schlecht Fleisch total durchgebraten!!!! Obwohl Medium rear bestellt!! Die Teigwaren mit Kürbissauce undefinierbar!!! Aber für 1 Nacht ok. Frühstück kann man ja später essen.

Just Ok

Not bad for just one night. The rooms are a bit small for 4 adults, but the price was much better than the places right in Kuranda, and only about 20 mins away from town.

Unusual and interesting.

Cabins were in tiny hamlet of Speewah not in Kuranda where we thought we would be staying. Looked like a filling station with tavern attached but very pretty grounds around cabins which were situated at the rear. Tavern pleasant and interesting and we were disappointed that we could spend so little time there. A bit far away from anywhere but a little shop at filling station stocked essential items. Pleasant room with two double beds and a little balcony overlooking grassy area and woodland. Pool in grounds but did not look too inviting because of its position under trees, in full view of tavern patrons and not very warm. It was also a bit greenish looking. However it was still only early spring. The cabins seem to be run by a separate concern to the tavern and filling station and so we had to pick up and drop off the the key from the bar. This was not a problem but it was annoying to be told they did not provide milk so instead of being able to have a much needed drink we had to shop for milk first. There was a perfectly good working fridge in the room so not sure why there was a problem with leaving milk there for guests. Each balcony accommodated two cabins and unforutately some rubbish had been left there by departing guests from second cabin which remined there for the three days of our stay.
