The breakfast was freshly cooked. The staff were friendly and efficient. Our criticism is with the lack of heating of the room. The radiator was hot when the heating was turned on but as this only happened for a short time when requested the room was very cold. The pillows were extremely thin and there was only one each on the bed.

Pub-Hotel mit Charakter

Das Haus mit seiner seiner gut erhaltenen Fassade aus dem 18 Jdh. erfüllt voll und ganz die traditionelle Erwartungen. Auch im Innern fühlt man sich durch die urige Atmosphäre in die damalige Zeit zurückversetzt. Wir wurden bei unserer Ankunft sehr herzlich und überaus freundlich von der Inhaberin begrüßt, die uns alle für den Aufenthalt nötigen Informationen nannte. Sie zeigte uns auch unser Zimmer, das über eine schmale Holzstiege erreichbar war. Das Abendessen war sehr lecker und reichlich. Der Pub war voll, so dass eine Tischreservierung sinnvoll ist. Zum Frühstück gab es auch warme Speisen nach Wunsch. Wir ließen uns Crumpets mit Lachs empfehlen und waren total davon angetan. Danke dem freundlichen Team!

Just a basic inn with a bed to sleep in.

Just a basic inn with a bed to sleep in. Everything is extremely basic, which helps keep costs down — and I do appreciate that. However, cleanliness could definitely be improved. The banisters and tables were sticky, and the room had a musty smell. The television could have been made to work better. The one highlight was the well-cooked breakfast and the pleasant host, which was a nice touch.

The gentleman who served breakfast, also carried luggage and called the taxi! He stayed outside the building until the taxi actually arrived! Very nice man!

Little Gem

Lovely old hotel in the heart of the village , roaring fire , great menu and if like me you are a coeliac you are well catered for . Parking just around the corner and very cheap Very clean room , everything needed . Excellent breakfast and so friendly , we will return

Food was pretty good but room wasn’t. The staff do the best they can. Parking was a fair ways away. Wouldn’t stay here again.

Arrived at The Ship, had to fight our way in through the crowded pub. Free public parking advertised, but there is none had to pay for parking about 5 minutes walk away. It was very noisy, especially in the early morning, dustmen, bottle collecting and deliveries. Returned to pub first evening after a walk with a sign in the doorway saying “full, come back later” so went elsewhere to eat.

Lovely stay. Friendly staff. Perfect location to explore Mevagissey. We enjoyed the pub, the food, and hearing the gulls outside the window. Felt like travelers from an adventure story staying at the Ship Inn.

Heart of Mevagissey

Great old Cornish inn in the heart of the village, just a few yards from the harbour. The food was excellent, the staff were very friendly and helpful, and the room was clean and comfortable. We will definitely be back.

Value for money stay

Have stayed at the Ship a few times over the years so knew what to expect. Nothing has changed it’s an old building. Staff were excellent meal in the evening and breakfast next day were both good. Very central location

Cosy Authentic Pub with Rooms - Great Food!

The Ship is a really interesting and authentic place to stay and provides excellent food, drink and service. The staff were really friendly and helpful, despite having struggled to keep the pub open as a result of recent spring tide flooding of the bar. The room was homely and comfortable, but a little maintenance would be good
