The place was nicely updated, clean and comfortable inside but when we first got there, we thought we had the wrong address as the lawn needed mowed and there was broken furniture on the porch. I notified our host promptly, as I didn't want to be charged for damages. Inside, the host had posted a notice on the fridge that guests were required to take the garbage cans and recycling to the curb on trash day (this area picks up trash every 2 weeks according to the notice and schedule). Our stay fell on trash day/week so that it sounded like we were expected to haul out 2 weeks worth of trash for the host. We were only staying 3 nights so this seemed out of line. When I contacted the host about the trash, they assured me that was only for long term stays and the handyman would take care of the garbage. The host assured me they would clarify that notice for future guests but when we checked out a few days later, the trash was still there (several days after the posted trash pickup day). After our stay the host billed me 50.00 for 12 coffee pods, which seemed excessive and I have to wonder if it was retaliation for the trash issue. I wouldn't have minded being charged had I known they had a price but nothing was posted so I thought they were complimentary.I'll be sure to ask, from now on. But I won't be staying here again. Too many gray areas. Too many surprises.
