The ocean was visible from the room/deck. The place is very conveniently located to the beach with literally just walking across the street and you're on to the sand. It's probably a 10-minute walk from things like the lighthouse and the restaurants and stores in the middle of the island which is not bad at all.
The place was very clean. But like many reviews, State the place is also a little outdated and needs some TLC to get it up to an excellent stay. Bed in the upper bedroom shook with little effort. With all the lights off, arriving at night was not very friendly. But we figured it out. The lower bedroom is detached from all of the rest of the house. Which is good if you have a couple or an individual staying who you can trust to be separated from the group. But if you're trying to put young kids in both the second and third bedrooms, this is not ideal. The water was very smelly at first because it has been sitting in a tank. Not doing much for a long time. There is a lot of moisture in the air on St. George Island and the bedrooms could stand a solid carpet cleaning and refreshing. And the east side of the building needs a gutter because there's so much moisture nightly that it begins dripping off the house in the evening and all night long onto the stairs that you have to take to get to the laundry which is in the detached bedroom.
Despite a few issues it was a very complete house that was convenient and we did enjoy our stay.
