I was upset when I arrived to find out the unit was in the basement at the back of the house, where you would either have to carry your luggage down 23 stairs(with different landings) or down the grass covered hill on the other side of the house. This might be fine for some people, but for a 70-year-old and a 78 year-old getting your luggage to the unit using either of these methods is not ideal. I didn’t see this in the listing (picture showed the front of the house) or I would not have booked it. David was very nice and offered to come over to carry our luggage up and down, but when I asked for a refund because I had bought cancellation insurance, I was told that it was a business. Will never buy cancellation insurance again. I was shocked to come back that night to find there were no lights over the stairs outside! It was pitch black, you couldn’t see your hand in front of you. Thank goodness for the flashlight on my phone. I’m not even sure how this would pass a safety inspection?
The unit itself was clean and well stocked.
I don’t want to sound like a complaining customer and it has taken me 3 weeks to write this, but I felt potential renters should be warned. Especially an older person or someone with health issues or disability. Getting down to the unit could be a real safety issue.
