We never needed to use the car once we got our core groceries. We were a short walk to the beach, 2 great cafes right on Gulf Blvd for breakfast, and a beach bar in the same plaza, plus plenty of good restaurants within walking distance.
House was spotless and very updated. There is a huge front porch, not exactly overlooking the Gulf, but pretty close, and the walk to the beach is only 2 blocks. We thought about dropping off the chairs and umbrella, but the walk wasn’t bad, and I went back for water refills a few times and though nothing of it.
Check in was easy enough, all done virtually. There was an issue trying to photograph my ID but I eventually got it resolved by switching from a black to a white background, and the host said he would have allowed me to email him a copy if that hadn’t worked, so just be patient and you’ll be fine.
Fair warning: there is a lot of construction going on in this part of the island, and some of the workers are less than polite and professional, but if you are an early riser like I am, the noise won’t bother you, and my wife simply avoided walking past the site after the initial “incident”.
