Great beach vacay

Location was excellent. Short walk to the beach. Nice runs and walks on beach, dolphin sightings, and beautiful sunsets. Great restaurants and ice cream places within walking distanceNice to have the trolley to Pier 60 rather than deal with traffic.Adequate cutlery, plates, pots/fry pans and towels. Also nice to relax on the front deck.Enjoyed our stay and would return.

Snowbirds

We stayed for 3 months. Treated like our own home while there. Brought my own dishes pots pans and all linens and towels Glad I did. Nice and close to water. Should provide information about trash lawn service times and tv and thermostat usage for guests.. would return

Great location!!

We had a very nice stay at this condo! It was clean and matched the photos. Great location to beach and plenty of places to walk to for meals and ice cream. I was told there were four beach chairs and an umbrella. When we arrived, two beach chairs were full of black mold and the umbrella was broken. My family flew in from PA, so we obviously didn't have our own beach gear which is why I clarified with the property owner about what was there. After seeing the condition of the beach gear, I reached out to the owner who said she was unaware of the broken umbrella and that she'd have to look into it. She never got back to me again about it. So I had to order chairs and an umbrella for my family to use at Walmart and have them delivered; the week we were vacationing some of the days were in the upper 90's. So we needed an umbrella. Anyway, it was disappointing that the owner never checked back in about the gear nor checked on us the rest of our stay and I had to buy those supplies and leave them there because I couldn't take them home on an airplane.

By the Beach

Very spacious, comfortable, open floor plan, good lighting, with large outdoor porch. The rental unit is tastefully decorated, and is on the second floor, but easy to walk up outside stairs. Appliances and furniture and beds are in good condition. The condo is located within a nice neighborhood and it is about a block to a two-way road, which when you cross it you easily can access the lovely beach (which goes on for miles). There are restaurants nearby, easily reachable by walking or car. We enjoyed it. Lots to do in the larger Clearwater-St. Petersberg area. We recommend the small, cute down of Dunedin and the larger, artsy town of St. Petersberg, and Honeymoon Island. I wish the water had been a little warmer but weather and beach were very good.

Great place to be in Indian Rocks/Clearwatet

Clean and comfortable, the second floor of the duplex is everything the four of us needed. Easy walk to the beach, plenty of restaurants, gift shops and grocery stores for whatever we needed. We’ll be back!

Sweet spot

My family enjoyed our stay at Atena's. We found it to be very conveniently located to local shops and the beach. I had a couple of questions during the week, and our host was very helpful with her responses. We were there during some if their hottest days in history. Despite that, our unit stayed cool and comfy! We would definitely recommend staying here. We plan to check this unit's availability for the next time we're heading down to the area.

Great Location

We adore Indian Rocks Beach. This was an affordable stay in a lovely residential neighborhood. Close to the beach and restaurants. Only complaints are the sofa bed is not sleep-able, the tvs are seriously outdated, and the tub stopper was not working. The other beds were comfy though and the sectional doubled as a bed so it worked out.

We enjoyed our stay. The home was clean and spacious. An easy walk to the beach and several restaurants. Indian Rocks Beach was a lovely area. Less congested than surrounding beach towns.

2 Stars for Great Location but Disappointing House

This property is a good example of what you see is not what you get. The listing does not clearly represent the property as a duplex, but it is an upper with long-term renters in the lower unit (we had no issues with the "new" renters). The check-in process was difficult; the code was provided but there was no explanation of how to enter it into the keypad. We've used many different types of lockboxes and keypads over the years, but we had not used one like this. We ended up calling to get help to get in. Then we had trouble connecting to the Wi-Fi and using the multiple remotes for the television. This required additional communication with the hosts as there was no "book of information and instructions" as is provided in many rentals. Then within 24 hours we realized almost everything inside and outside the house needs repair or replacement. Decks felt unsafe in places, dishware is cracked and chipped, bathroom fixtures not working properly, issues with electrical outlets, and the list goes on. And the security cameras are not only looking at the stairway, driveway, and yard but also look at the main front deck which felt like an invasion of privacy. Everyday supplies were provided for a week's stay, not for a month's stay. Again, other hosts we've had for long-term stays have provided more than the usual "starter" supplies which seems appropriate for a longer stay. We have had other "remote" hosts that have been easy to communicate with and are very responsive, but we did not have a similar experience at this property. We would not stay here again.

Great spot with a short walk to the ocean!

We love this location. We have stayed 2 times now and would stay again. We got to The location a couple hours early and they let us check in early. They left us enough toiletries till we could get to the store. There is one beach chair a bunch of sand toys to go enjoy the beach. It’s walking distance to so many great places and just a great location. Even the downstairs tenants were super friendly and introduced themselves. 5/5 stars. The only thing was I wish there was a cooler to be able to take to the beach instead of flying down and having to buy one, but that would just be another perk!

My family and I had a great time at this rental house, the tenants down stairs were very respectful and polite also easy going. Would definitely rent again in the near future I also left a pack and play behind for future guest to use!

DON'T BOOK HERE! The first issue was shown after booking when I asked about the woodburning fireplace. I was informed that this home was in Florida therefore no extra warmth was needed and that the gas burning fireplace was unusable and not listed as an amenity. Yes it is also it's in the second picture. Decided it wasn't a deal breaker, disappointed though. Then they never sent us the information to get in 3 days out as promised so I wrote to them. The next day they answered with a big long, don't use the staircase you are allowed to park by as it is in bad disrepair, to walk around the house to the other side carrying everything to get in. Be careful to not park there though because downstairs neighbor uses that side. What??? A whole house was advertised now you add this and instructions about a French door to the balcony not to use because it was broken. The grand finale was and to make sure we were out by 10 because someone else was coming in that afternoon. According to their site the house sits vacant for 2 days between guests and then cleaned for added covid protection. All of this weighing on us and being extremely nervous as to what we were getting into. The morning we were to leave we had a family emergency. We could have left to go later that afternoon however this was for a vacation for us to relax prior to a total knee replacement. So you are discussing all this disrepair and non compliance in your cleaning. We decided better to not get injured or ill and did not go. We called VRBO and basically were told to leave a review to alert others since our talks with the owners gave us nothing back. Not even the cleaning or tax fees. Yes, I should have read the reviews better, our 1st choice said no so I jumped on this due to location. Run people don't walk. This is basically a bait and switch.

Great stay!

This rental has a large modern open concept living room, dining room, kitchen and a deck with a roof. We enjoyed staying here. It is a 4 minute walk to the beach. There are many restaurants in the area. There is a grocery/liquor store and fresh produce store within a block of the property. Property is quiet and private. Unfortunately the plumbing is very old and we were unable to use one of the showers because the faucet broke. The bathrooms are dated. Overall, it was a very good vacation.

TERRIBLE COMMUNICATION

The house was very nice, nice neighborhood and it's about 5 min walk to beach access . There's someone living in the unit under it & they were super loud & stayed up until 1 a.m every night ! Our 2nd night there the master bathroom toilet stopped working & I immediately wrote the owner & they responded very rude saying they would have someone there to fix it & no one ever showed up! We stayed 6 more nights after this not able to use that bathroom toilet! So needless to say, I won't be back to that "unit" . Disappointing

Mildew, Mold, and More

Overall a great location in terms of proximity to walk to beach and local shops. The property is clearly aged and in need of updates and repair. The outdoor patio has excessive mildew and algae buildup on the deck, a broken handrail on steps to front door, cracked walls and peeling paint in multiple rooms. Charged extra person fee yet did not provide enough towels. Pull out bed was awful resulting in people sleeping on couch. Kitchen was actually pretty well stocked with pans, pots, etc and grill was in great shape. Document detailed status of place upon or risk claims of damage that was pre-existing afterwards.

Poorly managed

I am leaving this review in hopes the owner will make the necessary repairs for future guests ~ To begin, I had to call VRBO the day before I left because the owner would not respond with the needed check in information. Lives in Canada so the phone number was unreachable * the front door would not lock - at all. Which means every time we left we had to bring all of our valuables * one of the French doors to the balcony also would not lock * the shower near the hall dripped constantly. Not a drip...a stream * the blinds to one of the French doors were in a heap on the floor * the two outside lights facing the street blinked constantly. This was a mystery to me * the bathrooms when we arrived were not very clean * the sheets in the master bedroom had fresh blood stains on them * the occupants below played their music quite loud from 6pm until 8am the next morning. (No lie) I do not like trying to go to sleep to Megadeath * the railing going up to the front door is rotted This house has so much potential. It just needs to be repaired and maintained properly. I am not sure if the owner is aware of the hazards and the incredible rudeness of the tenant below. I did reach out to the owner about the broken locks the first day I was there but never got a reply :(

Will never stay at this property again!

My family and I were very excited to get to Florida and have a family vacation. Our flight landed before the check in time so we went to the beach to kill some time. When we arrived late that evening we couldn't get into the property and couldn't get a hold of the manager. After several attempts she finally answered and casually said she "forgot to send us the code". We were all wet, tired, and ready to relax. The yard was very unkept. There was someone living in the bottom half (which was never mentioned in the listing). We could hear music and a barking dog all night long. Also, the dog pooped on the driveway and front steps and the tenants downstairs did not pick it up. The inside of the property was not fully updated (not a huge deal, just misleading). There were so many ants it was difficult to even get the kids to use the shower. The master bathroom was NOT cleaned when we arrived. Someone had apparently shaved in the sink prior to our visit. Most of the dishes in the kitchen needed to be rewashed before using. All in all, it was a huge let down. On the plus side, it was nice to have a washer and drier.

Spacious house in excellent location

This was our first visit to Indian Rock's Beach. We loved it! The house is in an excellent location; a quiet neighbourhood that is a short walk from the beach, as well as shops and restaurants along Gulf Boulevard; and an easy drive to all the beaches from St. Pete's to Clearwater, the Blue Jays Spring Training park in Dunedin, golf courses, shopping, and several natural sites in and around Largo. We rented the house for 2 weeks. During the first week, another couple stayed with us. The house accommodated the 4 of us us very comfortably; we could enjoy time together as well as privacy from each other. We enjoyed the front deck very much, spending time out there reading, enjoying meals, and just relaxing. There were a few issues that we raised with the owners, making suggestions for minor improvements. They were well-received. One issue I couldn't resolve was with the processing method for my payment. Although I live in Canada, I have an American credit card to pay for travels and purchases in the U.S.. Despite using this credit card to pay for this rental, I was assessed a 1.5% bank fee because the payment was processed outside the U. S.. Never the less, it is a good place to stay to enjoy your time on the Gulf shore in Florida.
