We loved that there were three long sized beds with bathrooms. However, the floors/carpets were so dirty that our feet bottoms were black. The kitchen is small and doesn’t have a pantry. Some game options would have been nice.

60th Birthday weekend

Short weekend trip for my wife's 60th birthday. Loved the house, great pool area and easy walk to the beach. Also walked to dinner both nights. Highly recommend.

Great house, pools, beach

Great large house, a few steps from East Beach, great neighborhood pools, we had a wonderful stay. You need to bring your own soap and shampoo. Also if you stay more than a few days and have a large party, you will need to provide your own trash bags and dishwasher pods, annoying at this price point.

Wonderful House

Reserved for my family and a group of college friends, who were all in town for another college friend's wedding. The house was great and suited us well. Nice, short walk to a beautiful beach. Cold time of year, but still stunning.

Perfect for families!

This was our first family trip to the beach and this home was perfect for us. Beds were comfortable and plenty of space to escape to if needed. The kitchen could use some dishes and utensil updating - too few for the number of people but other than that we would definitely rent again. The rental company was easy to work with and quick to answer any questions. Loved our stay!!

Third stay at this lovely home. Enjoyed some recent upgrades in furnishings, etc. and is always a wonderful property. Owner is extremely hospitable. Look forward to a 2024 visit.

Our stay

Having 5 bedrooms, with 3 master suites, was appreciated. It would have been nice to have a king bed on the first floor but I understand that there wasn't enough room. The 3 floors kept us separated enough in the mornings that as we gradually meandered downstairs, no one bothered others who were still sleeping. The kitchen wasn't as well stocked as we have had in other rentals but we were able to rewash dishes/pots as needed. The grandchildren enjoyed the heated pool.

The Avonlea Cottage was everything we expected and a little more. We would definitely book this cottage again. The pool and boardwalk to the ocean are two real pluses.

As advertised. The cottage was perfect for our family. No issues with cottage. Had a great week.

Great week. Beach access boardwalk isn’t long enough to get over the marshy/swampy area. However, it is currently under construction to be lengthened. Either you walk thru ankle deep water and mud to get to the beach of you find another point of access.

A wonderful location for a family getaway!! It had all the comforts from home. The family enjoyed the beach, pool, fishing, bike riding, shopping and restaurants 😀 We just needed more time!!

Mixed review

Overall, the house was beautiful and very comfortable. There were a few minor issues, such as the doors would not stay closed, the grill had no gas in the tank, and the rooftop had no lights for use during sunset/evening. The listing was mostly accurate except for lack of Keurig and also no mention that the pools closed at dusk, which prevented both adults and teens from being able to use the pool after all of the smaller children had gone home. There was also no mention that the property absolutely hated teenagers onsite. We felt somewhat harassed during our stay with people policing our teens when they had not even done anything wrong at all. They followed our teens the very first night as they checked out the property and headed out to the ocean for their first view. They came to the cottage on two occasions to warn us about what might happen if our teens didn't follow the strict guidelines. The property manager sent emails questioning who was staying at the house, claiming they had been "counted" and exceeded the max limit, and acted as if they were breaking the law. I felt like we walked on eggshells the entire week and could not relax at all. We also heard from several other teen families onsite that they received similar messages and felt harassed as well. After having such a lovely home surrounded by loved ones, what a shame we never really could relax at our beautiful cottage. Not all teenagers run wild. If you don't want teenagers, just say so from the very beginning. Don't ruin vacations. Very disappointing.

Beautiful home!!!

Loved this beautiful home!!! The space was amazing and accommodated everyone (8 girls). Beautifully decorated and good quality linens and all of the fans were working properly. Couldn't have asked for a better home to stay in while at the beach. Very close to everything!!! We ubered it everywhere at night.

The sleeping space was good. The kitchen was not well stocked with cooking items. A house that sleeps 12 only had 10 forks. No large casserole dishes or kitchen towels.

Perfect family getaway!

For our growing family, the three separate floors gave us some privacy while the main floor provided enough space for meals and hanging out together. The bunk room was just perfect for the kids! The unit provided everything we needed and more! We love staying in this community as the walk to and from the beach and pool is protected for the children. Absolutely perfect for families!!

Get Away

The property/house was excellent. All that was needed was available at residence. The cleanliness was great. All areas of the house were very comfortable and accommodating. We were a group of ten ( 5 couples ) had a great time and the area was beautiful. We hope to return next year.

Best family vacation ever!

The house was perfect for a big family vacation. The closeness to the beach made for great fun for the kids; the private community pools very nice and were never very crowded. The house was immaculate and very well appointed. Highly recommend and would definitely return.
