Charming Hillside Cottage with Expansive Ocean Views

  • This cozy cottage overlooks Stinson Beach Village. Located just around the corner from the Stinson Beach Market, this cottage has French doors that open up to the deck with views of Stinson Beach village and the big blue sea. The cottage has a gas range, high-speed-wireless internet, a flat screen Smart HD TV, and a large deck with Gas BBQ and outdoor shower. In addition to the queen sized bed, the unit has a pull-out couch that sleeps one or two small children. This sleeper couch is not comfortable for adults. It is one of two side by side cottages that can be rented individually or as a duo at a discount (inquire for rates). They share one continuous deck divided by a sliding gate with panoramic ocean views. Please note that the property is accessed by a fairly long hillside staircase. Street parking only. The entrance to cottage #6 is accessed by passing through the front deck of unit #5. No Pets Allowed. Bed Configuration: 1 Queen, 1 Sofa Bed.

almost perfect

a miscommunication about where the lock box was and difficulty opening it/saved by a neighbor and agentover having a k size bed but it was too big for the room/right against a side wall/very awkward for one person the ‘fireplace’ heater barely warmed the place upotherwise we really liked the space, the location

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The space is nice, but parking was very difficult. The stairs leading to the space are long, and if you have heavy luggage it is a hassle. There were a few amenities missing, but on the whole it was well outfitted. There is a very nice deck to enjoy the limited water views, but the best part was the location. Easily walk to shops, restaurants, the ocean, and wedding venues. Barely had to use the car, which was good because getting in and out of the parking space is a pain.

Challenge with property

There was no dedicated place to park. Had to fend for ourselves with street parking and had to walk 1/2 mile to get back to the property. Was not well communicated about parking scenario. Also there is no safety railing to walk down the path to the property and back up. Can lose balance especially if you are hauling a suitcase. Found out that property owners around the property are fighting over a newly built parking area that is under construction. All in all if we had known about the above challenges would not have stayed there and definitely do not recommend to anyone else until they have parking and safety walking railings resolved and completed.

Large deposit not yet returned

The space is lovely. View is ok with partial view of water. Bedroom small but really it’s fine. Shower was very nice. Comfortable and quiet. A bit hard to find in the dark and the parking was on street and I had to park down the hill when the description said on property parking. . Not ideal. The deposit is 500$ and as of this review a week after check out, has still not been returned. I will be happy to change the review once the deposit is returned. The excuse I was given was that it can take two to three weeks to return so they have time to review the property. I think we all know how it works, just put it back on the card. Costco does it, so can you. Be prompt. The lady asked me if I needed the money. Rude.

The place was clean and well-stocked, and had a large deck affording a great view of the ocean and the town of Stinson. It was quick walk from there to Stinson Beach and the lagoon.

Wonderful home within walking distance to the beach. The home was clean and had basic kitchen supplies. Bed was comfortable and the home was clean. The deck and outdoor shower were the highlights of this home. We enjoyed our stay!!

The check in process was a little unclear, but maybe that’s because I didn’t download the app. The fireplace didn’t work, but the property management were responsive when I called. I left something in the closet and they were kind enough to run over to the property and make sure they set it aside for us. I would stay again! Thanks!

The parking is obnoxious - if we had a medium or large car, we would not have fit in. Perhaps painted slots on the street would help. It could use a bedroom and kitchen clock, a dishwasher, some storage containers for food and a little better cell reception.
