    Come enjoy Lodi or Lockefords wine country! Quiet and private escape with lovely views of large oak trees and the walnut orchard. Wine tasting within walking distance as well as dining. Tons of wineries to explore just minutes away. One bedroom with queen bed, sofa in the living room makes into a bed for two. Brand new bathroom! Kitchen with dining nook, private outside patio with bbq and beautiful view of the walnut orchard. Enjoy a little taste of country living, sounds of wild life and roosters crowing. With all the conveniences of being in the city. With only a one minute drive to the grocery store, it is easy to get supplies to stay in or pack a picnic to head out for a day experiencing what our towns have to offer.

Family road trip

We enjoyed a quick overnight here while visiting family in Stockton as part of a California road trip. This was a great spot to collect ourselves and rest up before another long drive. Thank you for a lovely stay!

Lovely Property

In town overnight for a wedding, would have liked to stay longer at this lovely, comfortable house. The unique spot is surrounded by trees and comes with an outdoor seating area with beautiful plants and citrus. Would definitely stay again.

Lovely windows with a view

Great place—everything we needed. Great view. Comfy lodgings. We could hear the homeowners coming and going but not a problem. They were friendly and helpful.

Comfortable, cozy, convenient, felt like home

Great communication with the host before, during, and after the stay. The check in process was easy and contactless. Loved the property. Will come back here if our travels take us back to this area.

The Roost

The Roost was perfect for a quick trip and time needed away. The accommodations were clean, organized and decorated comfortably with a lot of character. I was able to make a full meal in the small but functional kitchen. I love that this is a hidden gem in a lesser known wine region.

Comfy, Cozy...Perfect!

What a great find! Perfectly comfortable and inviting. From beginning to end, Melissa communicated with me and made sure that our stay was perfect in every way. Her place has everything you need, and the surroundings are beautiful. Without hesitation, I would recommend The Roost.

Amazing Stay

Our host and stay were both absolutely amazing. She was very friendly, helpful, and responded quickly always. I will definitely be returning to this beautiful property. The photos don’t do justice to how beautiful the property was. There was a very friendly outdoor cat as well who was an added plus to our stay :)

Nice comfortable weekend in Lodi area

We stayed for two nights. It was exactly as advertised in the listing. We had trouble with the gate but the owner was watching for us to arrive and came over and immediately helped. The surroundings were very nice. Would stay again.

Clean great location

So happy to be able to stay at the “Roost”! We came for wine tasting in Lodi but didn’t want to stay in town. This place has everything you need for the perfect getaway! Melissa was very attentive and was pleased to offer anything we may need. Cozy, comfy and very satisfied with all the amenities. We will be back!

Simply amazing

Wow! What an amazing place to stay. My husband and I were passing though and decided to stay in town to visit with family longer. I am a premier host myself with 20+ properties and I am particular. This house has everything you need and the setting is absolutely beautiful. We wished we could have stayed longer. Melissa is an absolutely gracious host. I would recommend this VR to ANYONE staying in the area.

A Glam-cottage Treehouse!!

Says it’s a cottage but once inside, this delightful hostess has created a ‘home with a view’ through a wall of windows at the top of terraces of trees. We were at the top… like a treehouse! The listing photos do no justice. Beautiful furnishings, decor & appointments, spotlessly clean. Hostess Melissa, welcomed us like old friends. What a nice stay! Quiet, private, for respite or a perfect romantic getaway! Thank you!

Competition in Stockton

My daughter and I were in town for the week to attend the national baton championships in Stockton. This was the perfect place to come back to after busy days competing. The view of the orchard and sunsets from the living room windows were amazing. The space was well appointed, modern, comfortable, and quiet. My daughter spent many nights hanging out with Cheeto, the resident Tabby cat. This is the perfect base for visitors as it’s an 8 min drive to Lodi, and a 30 min drive to Stockton. We absolutely loved our stay here and would highly recommend it to others.

Beautiful and peaceful

This property was the perfect escape from hectic holiday life. Decor was tasteful and lush with several different lighting options to use depending on your mood. The outdoor patio and grilling area was absolutely charming at night with the outdoor string Edison’s and being able to have our own grill was wonderful! My favorite part of this stay isn’t even picture in the ad! The view from the floor to ceiling windows in the living room boasted a grand two tier veranda with a beautiful live oak tree growing up and over the house with what I think is an almond grove at the bottom. I visited during the winter, so the mornings are pretty foggy. But watching the fog rise up from around the oak tree, sipping tea, as the sun rose was the most peaceful I’ve felt in a long time. Will definitely be visiting again the next time I need an escape!

Clean, cozy and comfortable.

I give this place a 5 star, Melissa is a great host she stayed in contact with me all throughout our stay, she provided fresh cream for our coffee. The place is very comfortable and very clean. I loved the bed and the pillows were the best thing for me. Beautiful view. If you are looking for a comfortable place, look no more and book this one.

Loved the roost

Beautiful location. The Walnut orchard was such a beautiful backdrop to the full glass windows in the living area. The backyard was definitely an unexpected venue option for some future events. Beautiful property.
