The cabin was very clean and comfortable. There was an amazing addition of fresh eggs, local orange juice, fruit, chips, some cereal options available for us. Don't forget about the AMAZING muffins that we enjoyed with every bite. Doug was great! Very easy to get ahold of and was really good at communicating and checking in upon our arrival and departure, making sure we had everything we needed and was more than willing to answer any questions we had. The peacefulness of this place is so nice. It was great being able to enjoy the quiet of nature and watch and listen to all of the wildlife around us. I can't wait to get back for another weekend!!

Bird songs

The cabin was almost more than expected! All rooms are very large and so inviting! Even though the weather was extremely hot we were able to enjoy a beautiful walk to the tree farm park a short drive down the road. Breakfast was on the front porch and we were entertained by the bird songs, deer and turkeys. The secluded quietness of the 300 acres was refreshing!

Getaway

property waa amazing. Just what I was looking for. Secluded, quite and close to the event I scheduled. The host was very friendly and helpful in every way. If given a chance to come back I would definitely choose here agai.

Great stay. Property is so peaceful and we enjoyed ourselves. We were there for a car show and after a huge downpour on our way there Julie was gracious enough to allow us to wash all 3 cars on the property before heading to the show. Thanks for the hospitality!

Loved this beautiful cabin and the location was amazing. Very comfortable accomodations and owner supplied more than just normal basics in the kitchen. Would definitely stay again.

Absolute Perfection

Doug was the perfect host. Wonderful to work with, kind, patient and very helpful. Called to welcome us when we arrived. Called to let us know they might be coming to drop something off in the garage, called on our last day to give us information on how to check out. When we had questions he was always there. Location was hard to beat when you need to recharge and de-stress and just plain want to soak in the beauty of God's creation. The view was spectacular as the house sits at the top of the hill. It was great to look out the windows or sit on the rocking chairs, on the front porch, and just take everything in . The rolling hills, the way the different colors on the trees came together, cottages dotting the landscape making it so picture perfect. And, the beautiful chirping of the birds esp in the morning will be hard to forget. This home is very comfortable with a very cozy ambiance, well maintained and very clean and there are many beautiful/intriguing art pieces that you do not typically see in a rental home. They were items that mean a lot to the owner and placed thoughtfully around the home. The one thing I regret was not having the time to sit in front of the WBFP with the fire going and to read a book. Next time I will forego going to the Amish stores and will just enjoy the spectacular home. Needless to say, I truly miss this place.

This was the view from the upstairs bathroom. Would brush my teeth and look out the window and felt like this is what life is all about.

Relaxing ladies getaway

Had a relaxing ladies weekend with sister and best friend. Enjoyed the unique lodge and its beautiful details and artwork. Hosts were so thoughtful in the simple items left for breakfast. We have stayed once before and will return.

Off Grid

We enjoyed our stay at the cabin in the woods. We enjoyed watching the deer and the groundhog. I would however recommend having TV's that have service. We could not watch TV for your stay. There is 1 smart TV that i tried to connect to my service but the internet signal too weak. I would also recommend more lighting. We could not read due to dark and very low lighting. We found it to be dark and dreary. However, the owners were super nice and thoughtful. We were welcomed with the porch light on and snacks on the counter and in the fridge. They called to welcome us and answer any questions and they also called to thank us.I would recommend this cabin in the woods especially if you are looking for off the grid. Perfect Stay!

Everything was just as described. Doug and Jen were great at communicating and left us snacks and breakfast items including local doughnuts. We enjoyed the fireplace and the quietness surrounding the property. Would definitely stay again. Thank you Doug and Jen for being wonderful hosts.

Cabin in the woods

This cabin was exactly as advertised. Very spacious and so clean. There were eggs, muffins, OJ and milk in the kitchen, which was fully stocked with everything you might need to cook during your stay. The stairs to the bedrooms were a little steep and narrow for an older couple but otherwise perfect for our stay!

Great retreat

A could boyhood friends got together had a great stay hope to rent in the fall next year and use the front porch! Quite comfortable and uniquely furnished and decorated. Highly recommend

Anniversary Weekend

My wife and I love the Sugarcreek area, and chose The Lodge to spend a long Anniversary weekend. Such a great choice. The hosts Doug and Jen were the best. The Lodge was so peaceful and quiet. Loved the wood burning fireplace on cold late fall nights. If you love nature, a quiet and peaceful location, great Amish food and a fun shopping experience, this place is for you.

Great Get Away!

Quiet and peaceful. We spent time sitting on the front porch enjoying nature and in front of the fireplace reading. Great cabin to get away from the hustle and bustle of the business of everyday life.
